Alicia Vikander Ramps Up Romance Without Michael Fassbender In ‘Tulip Fever’

Alicia Vikander is the romantic heroine of our era, and there is no question. With her new movie, Tulip Fever, slated for a summer 2016 release, the Swedish actress is becoming the single most lauded young actress in Hollywood. Let’s hope that her boyfriend, Michael Fassbender, is comfortable with the fact that she stole the heart of men all over the world.

“Based on Deborah Moggach’s novel of the same name (and adapted for the screen by ‘Shakespeare in Love’s Tom Stoppard), Tulip Fever takes place in 17th-century Amsterdam, revolving around the budding relationship between an artist (Dane DeHaan) and a married woman (Alicia Vikander) after the former is commissioned by the latter’s husband (Christoph Waltz) to paint her portrait,” reports Entertainment Weekly. “The lovers then gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together.”

Reading the synopsis, it sounds like Alicia Vikander is about to release some intense summer romance for people all over world. Dane DeHaan should count himself a lucky one to act amongst all these great Oscar-winning actors and actresses.

The 27-year-old Swedish actress has been applauded for her ability to show raw emotions and vulnerability on screen, snatching her first Oscar this year for her performance opposite Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl. So, this onscreen romance with a relative newcomer, Dane DeHaan, should be out of control in Tulip Fever.

In fact, this movie is the first released to the public after she won the Academy Award and is gaining a lot of attention. She has been lucky to continue working with skilled actors.

Waltz and Judi Dench, Vikander’s Tulip Fever costars, have also won Oscars,” reports Entertainment Weekly. “Matthew Morrison, Cara Delevingne, Jack O’Connell, and Zach Galifianakis round out the film’s supporting cast. The drama also sees director Justin Chadwick returning to European period dramas following his work helming the 2008 Natalie Portman/Scarlett Johansson film The Other Boleyn Girl.”

But just because her career is taking off, that doesn’t mean that Alicia Vikander is letting go of her relationship with Michael Fassbender. Just earlier this month, she was seen visiting New York to spend his 39th birthday with him. Check out a picture of them PDA-ing on the streets of Big Apple.

Michael Fassbender has spoken recently about the fact that he treasures the time that he has with his friends and lovers. To honor that, he tries to limit his phone usage around them.

“Sometimes, when I’m in a restaurant by myself I will look at my phone, but usually I turn it off,” he said according to Irish Independent.

“I ask my friends to turn off their phones when we’re eating together,” he continued. “I just think it’s important for people to be able to communicate directly. Usually you’re sitting down at a table and you’re constantly seeing people texting, and the phones are ringing or going bing-bing from messages coming in.”

Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender first met while filming The Light Between the Oceans in Australia. They were first seen hanging out casually on the Gold Coast, but their romance quickly escalated all the way to Oscars 2016, when he kissed her for winning the Best Supporting Actress.

Interestingly, this movie will be released in the fall of 2016, which will be the first time that they will share the red carpet together as co-stars and lovers.
