Elton John And Lady Gaga Team Up For Brave New Macy’s Fashion Line

Elton John and Lady Gaga are collaborating, but this time, it’s not in the recording studio. Elton and Gaga have teamed up for a partnership with Macy’s to benefit their signature charities, according to Billboard. The dynamic duo will launch their limited edition fashion and accessories line, Love Bravery, to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. The new collection is part of Macy’s annual American Icons campaign, which is a yearly showcase for American products. We know Elton John is British, but it’s the thought that counts, right?

Because Elton and Gaga are such colorful stars, their joint fashion line will reflect their vibrant styles. The Love Bravery collection is described as “a high-spirited, limited-edition line of clothing and accessories that inspire compassion and combat prejudice.” In addition to clothing items like shirts and beanies, the line will offer accessories including key chains, water bottles, and graffiti-print skateboards, all with bold, graphic prints.

Elton John may be the “Rocket Man,” but he’s also a piano man, so many of the items will boast piano key patterns. On the Gaga side, fans can expect monster claw shapes and heart motifs, as well as several items with the Born This Way singer’s face emblazoned on them.

In a statement about the Love Bravery collaboration, John said he likes the idea of showcasing his passions with fashion.

“I love the idea of fusing who you are on the inside – your passions and dreams – with what you wear on the outside.”

“We need to make the world a kinder and braver place where men and women everywhere are empowered to live with compassion,” Gaga added. “That’s what Born This Way Foundation is all about, that’s what the Elton John AIDS Foundation is all about, and that’s what Love Bravery is all about.”

Elton and Gaga aren’t alone in this awesome endeavor. Love Bravery was created with the help of designer Brandon Maxwell and Gaga’s sister, fashion designer Natali Germanotta.

Of course, both of these singing superstars are known for their over-the-top attire (who can forget that “meat dress” at the MTV Video Music Awards?), and Elton John has long been known for dressing up for his stage performances. In an interview with SiriusXM’s The Spectrum, John said fashion is a key element when it comes to giving his audience a memorable show.

“It’s part of the ritual for me,” Elton said. “It came from people like Elvis and Little Richard and Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran who always look fantastic, and I like bands to make an effort … it adds a little bit to the excitement … you’re wondering what the hell he’s going to wear, and it’s exciting.”

Elton John and Lady Gaga have been close pals for a long time, so the Macy’s partnership feels like a natural extension of their friendship. According to People, Elton John will appear on Gaga’s next album, and she is also the Godmother to his twin sons. What better way to celebrate their friendship than by launching a collaboration to benefit both of their favorite charities?

You can purchase items from the Elton John and Lady Gaga Love Bravery collection exclusively at Macy’s through the end of August. Items will range in price from $12 to $99, and John and Gaga will donate 25 percent of the proceeds from their line to the Born This Way Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. A few lucky cities will even get pop-up Love Bravery shops.
