Wizards, warlocks, witches and wanna-bes will  have to find a new online mega-store to fulfill their spell making needs. eBay has just banned the sale of magic potions, spells, and curses.

In its 2012 Fall Seller Update, the online store talked to its users about policy changes, category arrangements, and practices that could help users to increase their sales. The company also added a few items to its banned items list.

eBay will no longer allow the sale of advice; spells, curses, hexing, conjuring, magic, prayers, blessing services, magic potions, or healing sessions.

It’s unclear what prompted eBay to ban magic potions. Spokeswoman Johnna Hoff said that eBay regularly reviews its categories and will remove items that ”often result in issues that can be difficult to resolve.”

Hoff told the LA Times that tangible items that have actual value can still be sold on the website.

Hoff said:

“It’s important to note that items that have a tangible value for the item itself and may also be used in metaphysical rites and practices (ie  jewelry, crystals, incense, candles, and books) are allowed in most cases.”

The ban on potions doesn’t kick in until September so there’s still time to stock up. Hurry up and grab your love potions, your book of spells, or a lucky money potion while you still can!
