Watch Liverpool Vs. Villarreal Live Stream: UEFA Europa League Semifinal, Liverpool Chase Champions League Dream

Liverpool see their dreams of returning to UEFA Champions League draw closer Thursday when they face Villarreal in a UEFA Europa League semifinal that will stream live from El Madrigal Stadium, as the English giants look to seize the opportunity to restore their former glory.

Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League in 2005, but the club’s greatest European era took place before the Champions League era, when the Reds won four European Cups and three UEFA Cups from 1973 to 2001.

But for the second straight season, the UEFA Europa League winner will automatically qualify for the Champions League, a possibility that is off the table for Liverpool through the domestic route.

Liverpool currently sit in seventh place on the Barclays Premier League table, nine points out of the fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot with only three games left on the schedule.

But standing in the way will be Villarreal, the fourth-place Spanish La Liga side who have won all six of their Europa League games at home in the current tournament.

“They’re a good club in a small city in Spain. They have made a lot of good decisions to be here,” said Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday. “We should not hope that they will only make wrong decisions tomorrow. We have to be prepared for our best game and that’s what we will try to do.”

Villarreal say that they feel confident heading into the Liverpool match, despite their underdog status.

“Liverpool are the favorites given their history and the fact they eliminated Dortmund, but we don’t feel inferior,” said Villarreal Manager Marcelino. “We don’t have any pressure on us…I felt more pressure in the previous knockout ties.”

“It would be a very big achievement for Villarreal to get through to the final. It’s what we’re all dreaming about,” said Villarreal and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado. “We strongly believe in our chances, although we know it’s going to be difficult. This game has given the team and the fans such a lot of excitement, and we can use that excitement to get through.”
