Is Adam Levine Quitting ‘The Voice’ To Focus On Fatherhood? He Speaks Out About His Future With The Show

Could Adam Levine be secretly planning to leave The Voice?

Earlier this year, around the time news broke of his wife’s pregnancy, Adam Levine faced rumors regarding his possible exit from the series, but weeks ago, he was confirmed as part of The Voice‘s Season 11 cast. However, there may be more to the story than meets the eye.

While The Wrap confirmed Adam Levine’s return in late March, telling readers he’d be a coach on Season 11 along with Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Blake Shelton, a Season 10 contestant recently claimed Adam Levine would be “leaving” The Voice to have a family next year.

“We didn’t know that [Adam Levine] would be leaving to have his family next year, so, I mean, it’s so awesome to have the opportunity to have him as a coach,” contestant Laith Al-Saadi revealed to Entertainment Tonight, according to a Yahoo! report on April 26.

Currently, Adam Levine is expected to begin filming The Voice Season 11 this fall, but when it comes to next year’s Season 12, The Wrap claimed that past judges, including Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams, could return. Although the report didn’t say Adam Levine wouldn’t be a part of the show, they also didn’t say he would, and when it comes to his own comments, he doesn’t seem too sure what the future holds.

“Oh man, I’m gonna leave here and I don’t even know where I’m going. I don’t think that far ahead. We’ll see,” he said in a pre-taped interview.

Then, when asked if he’d been considering how he would balance his career with fatherhood, Adam Levine said cryptically, “Using your brain too much, you’re gonna hurt yourself.”

As for his future in music, Adam Levine revealed he and his band, Maroon 5, are currently working on a new song.

“Not an album right now, but maybe a song. Gotta keep the kids interested. We have something going on right now,” he teased. “Soon, it’s coming…. It’s on the way. It’s in the incubator.”

Adam Levine’s wife’s pregnancy news was first reported earlier this year, but it wasn’t until weeks ago when Adam Levine finally confirmed the news with an Instagram photo of Behati Prinsloo and her baby bump.

“It’s awesome. I’m going to be a dad. S**t, I’m excited,” Adam Levine gushed during an interview with E! News‘ Sibley Scoles on April 26. “I’m going to be a f***ing dad. I’m going to spoil [Behati].”

And once his first child arrives, Adam Levine hopes to expand his family even further.

“Like 17. Is that reasonable?,” Adam Levine jokingly told Catt Sadler of how many children he’d like to have. “I love kids so much, though. I love seeing kids on the set, too.”

Adam Levine is currently starring on The Voice Season 10 alongside fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Christina Aguilera. Aguilera has two young children, daughter Summer Rain and son Max. Meanwhile, former coach Gwen Stefani has three sons, Kingston, 9; Zuma, 7; and Apollo.

Adam Levine married Prinsloo in July 2014 after dating on and off for a couple of years, and ever since, both parties have been extremely vocal about their desires to have a large family.

According to Us Weekly, Prinsloo was three to four months along in her pregnancy last month, which means her due date will be sometime this fall.
