Blake Shelton Tops Christian Music Chart, Plans Proposal & Baby With ‘Coolest Girl In The World’ Gwen Stefani

Blake Shelton is opening up about his love for Gwen Stefani. Ever since the two went from platonic pals on The Voice to lovebirds, they’ve both increasingly shared their feelings. And now, after channeling their love into creativity with a duet, Blake just can’t stop gushing about Gwen, noted People.

Shelton has never been viewed as a shy guy, but when it comes to Stefani, he initially wasn’t sure about discussing in public the idea of a collaboration. Now, however, their duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” has become a reality on his album set to drop May 20, If I’m Honest.

And when he is honest, Blake admits his love for Gwen, revealing how they went from worrying about what the public would assume about their relationship to deciding that they just didn’t want to have that concern affect their future together.

“We were at a point where it’s like, ‘Do we want to go there? What will people think?’ And then we finally just got to the point where it’s like, ‘You know what? I don’t give a s—,'” declared the 39-year-old country music superstar.

The result was worth the anxiety, added Shelton, noting that he and Stefani value the fact that they succeeded professionally just as they have bonded personally.

“I love this song! This song’s important to us and the fact that we wrote it together is so important to both of us.”

As for his affection for his girlfriend, Blake doesn’t hold back.

“The coolest girl in the world,” summed up the country crooner.

And Shelton even confessed that he sometimes feels intimated.

“Any time I take a step back and think, ‘Wow, to me she’s Gwen, but she’s Gwen Stefani, you know what I mean? It’s like a self check every now and then,” he explained. “Whoa, I’m hanging out with literally the coolest girl in the world.”

As for Gwen herself, she took on the role of alerting fans to their collaboration on Twitter with a teaser of the cover.

In addition to the duet and upcoming album, Shelton has soared to the top of the Christian and gospel music charts with his new religious single, according to Christian Daily.

“Savior’s Shadow,” included on his upcoming album If I’m Honest, describes Blake’s faith through its lyrics.

“When I’m in my Savior’s shadow, I’m who I’m supposed to be.”

The single has topped the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart as well as the Christian Digital Songs list, ranking high on the Country Digital Songs list as well.

Shelton came up with the concept for the song, revealed songwriter Jessi Alexander to Taste of Country.

“He started an incredible song, a gospel song, and asked me and JR to help him finish. It’s beautiful and moving and I can’t wait for him to tell the story…It’s very deep to him and to us. It came deep from Blake’s soul and we were just glad we got to kind of help him birth it.”

Blake shared that he had a dream about the song, woke up, and wrote down his memories. After receiving positive feedback from fans, he expressed his appreciation.

“I’m literally overwhelmed,” declared Shelton. “Thank y’all so much. I’m so proud of this song.”

With their duet to celebrate as well as the settlement of Stefani’s divorce from Gavin Rossdale, Shelton is planning a romantic getaway with his true love, an insider told Hollywood Life.

“Blake is so happy for Gwen. He’s planning to whisk her away on a romantic getaway once her divorce is finalized. He has been there every step of the way helping and supporting Gwen and wants to celebrate her freedom and the next new exciting chapter in her life,” shared the source.

Will that next chapter include a proposal and baby? Shelton is ready to propose to Stefani, a source close to the country crooner told Us Weekly.

“Blake could propose to Gwen very soon. Gwen is everything he wants.”

And what he wants includes a family. Stefani has three sons, ranging in age from 2-year-old Apollo to Zuma, 7, and Kingston, 9. While they provide Shelton with a sense of family and adore the country singer, he also has dreams of having his own child.

“With Gwen, Blake has the family life he’d hoped to have with Miranda. [Stefani’s] kids love him as much as she does,” shared the source, adding, “Blake wants kids of his own. And Gwen is willing to try!”
