‘Reign’ Returns To The CW: Season 3, Episode 11 Airs On Monday, April 25

After what CarterMatt and many other fans have referred to as an incredibly long hiatus, CW’s Reign will return with new installments to wrap up the third season of the show. Episode 11 of Season 3 of Reign will air on the CW on Monday, April 25.

Episode 11 of Season 3 of Reign is titled “Succession.” The coronation of Charles as the new King of France Looms as Mary and Catherine scramble to determine who they can trust. Mary is on the hunt with a new strong suitor she can align with to protect herself and her country. The synopsis of the episode also reveals that Mary would learn who poisoned Elizabeth, and Catherine would become a new type of victim to the killer hiding in the castle.

Episode 10 of Reign aired back in January of this year. Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows) finally got what she wanted as she became regent of France. This was after she outed Narcisse (Craig Parker) from the position. Mary (Adelaide Kane) has fallen in love yet again in this series. This time she has fallen for Gideon (Ben Geurens), the Ambassador of England, yet another man who isn’t a good fit for her need for a strong suitor.

In this episode of Reign, things were not going so well for Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) in the English court. Elizabeth lost her baby after she drank from a cup of tea that someone had peppered with poison. On top of that, Elizabeth had only been getting lukewarm responses from all of the proposals for marriage she has made.

Reign will serve as a replacement on the CW for the comedy-musical series Crazy-Ex-Girlfriend. Reign is also set to air right before the network’s hit comedy Jane the Virgin. According to Master Herald, the show being switched to Monday night is great news. This may give Reign the chance it needs to show that its previous low ratings were due to the fact that it had a terrible timeslot on Friday.

In its previous season, Reign aired on Thursdays. Now, the CW airs The Vampire Diaries and The Originals on Friday. If the ratings for the series go up after being switched from Friday to Monday, there is a chance Reign may be renewed for a fourth season.

If moving Reign turns out to be a success for the CW, it would be the second show on the network to survive airing on a Friday night. It was back in 2012 that Supernatural was able to rebound after being switched from Fridays to Tuesdays. Currently, Supernatural is airing its 11th season.

The Master Herald also reported that earlier reports suggested Reign would be axed after its third season since the third season was renewed for 18 episodes compared to the usual 22 episodes the previous two seasons had.

According to Entertainment Weekly, John Barrowman will guest star in an episode of Reign this season when Mary finally sets foot on Scottish soil and learns he is responsible for killing Francis (Toby Regbo). Fans of the CW know Barrowman is certainly no stranger to taking on the role of a bad guy. In Reign, he is set to play Munro, who is a dangerous Scottish clan leader who has a sinister grudge festering against Mary, Queen of Scotts. What will Mary do when she returns to Scotland and finds herself face-to-face with the man who killed her husband?

Will Mary return to Scotland? Will she pursue a relationship with Gideon or will she find a more suitable suitor to protect her and her country? The only way to find out is to watch the episode on Monday night. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
