Justin Bieber Covers Same Justin Timberlake Song As Selena Gomez: Post Malone Choking Pic Becomes Viral Art [Video]

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have treated their fans to a recent revival of their romance, from liking each other’s Instagram photos to, in the case of Selena, spending time backstage at her off-again on-again boyfriend’s concert. But now Justin just may be hinting that he’s still struggling to get over Gomez by covering the same Justin Timberlake break-up song as she did, pointed out M magazine.

During his Purpose Tour, the pop idol, 22, treated fans to a cover of Timberlake’s famed split song, “Cry Me A River.”

Travel back in time, and that’s the same song Selena chose for a concert in 2013.

Gomez chose the Timberlake break-up song just after she had split from Bieber.

“This song definitely speaks to me,” confessed Selena prior to singing.

While earning praise for that cover in a musical sense, Bieber also has become the centerpiece of a new photo that’s been turned into viral art. It began when he and his friend Post Malone were in Houston, noted Refinery 29.

During Post Malone’s D.J. set, Justin used the lit end of a cigarette to touch him. Post responded by choking him in what supposedly was a just-between-the-friends playful moment.

After that incident, Malone was quick to clarify that it was just for fun.

However, Internet artists seized the opportunity to immortalize the moment and turn it into viral art.

As for Post, he recently talked with the Dallas Observer about what it’s really like to travel with Bieber. And in summary, it’s “surreal,” he confessed.

The Purpose Tour began in Seattle in March, landing in Dallas on April 17 at the American Airlines Center. Post is enjoying every moment.

“I’m having the time of my life,” Malone gushed. “I play a lot of Xbox, I sleep a lot, I hang out with my friends… It’s just been a great experience.”

It took just over a year for Post to make the journey from being an artist trying to make an impression by uploading his music to Soundcloud to landing a record contract and listening to the sweet sound of applause from huge crowds.

Two key moments in Malone’s career: Receiving the invitation to team up with Justin on his Purpose Tour and having his song “White Iverson” go viral. And yes, Post continues to turn to “White Iverson” as a mainstay, particularly since it still reigns as his main music release.

“It’s super, super, super surreal. It’s something I never expected would happen this fast,” confessed Malone.

Among his other achievements are appearing on a track with Kanye West and touring with Fetty Wap. Post also received an endorsement from Jay Z and was forced to halt his tour with the “Trap Queen” rapper to grasp the opportunity to join Bieber.

“It just jumped right on me. You got to take that opportunity when it’s presented to you,” pointed out Malone.

The two became acquainted through a friend, and with both residing in Los Angeles, they became pals prior to touring.

“We got in the studio a couple months before tour and just kind of kicked it off and became friends,” recalled Post. “Then he said, ‘Come on tour with me,’ and ain’t no way you’re going to say ‘no’ to the Purpose Tour.”

And yes, Malone is aware of the gap between his music (which feature alcohol and weed) and his current audience overflowing with watchful parents taking their middle school youngsters to scream that they’re Beliebers. Consequently, he’s relieved at the response.

“I was worried on the first shows coming out how they’d react,” admitted Post. “I was so nervous. But everything has been so positive. Even the younger kids have been into it; the parents have been into it; no one has been very upset with me.”
