Meghan Trainor Reveals Celebrity Crush On Leonardo DiCaprio, Makes Out With Charlie Puth

Meghan Trainor seems a little male-crazed these days. After news revealed that the AMA kiss she and Charlie Puth wasn’t the only one, Ellen DeGeneres got the “No” singer to admit her ultimate male crush in actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

The latest revelation came during a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week. In a segment called “Who’d You Rather?” for the show, Meghan Trainor excitedly made Leonardo DiCaprio her choice over and over, according to an article from Indian Express. “Leo! Leo!” Meghan Trainor exclaimed over and over as Ellen DeGeneres shifted through several hot actors and musicians photos behind her.

Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t the only man that Meghan Trainor has — or wants — to get up close and personal with, according to other articles. That short list also includes “Marvin Gaye” collaborator Charlie Puth. Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth have always seemed to have a close relationship, especially after collaborating together on the hit song, but whether that friendship has transformed into a romantic relationship has been a bit blurry.

The chemistry between Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth was evident to anyone who tuned into the American Music Awards back in November, 2015, when they shared a passionate kiss on stage. Taking one step further, Charlie Put then put his hands on Meghan Trainor’s bum. The performance mirrored the music video for “Marvin Gaye,” where Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth ended the video locking lips.

Afterwards, as Charlie Puth told Us Weekly, “The reaction has been insane. I’m getting followed everywhere.” However, Charlie Puth was quick to explain that his relationship with Meghan Trainor is purely platonic.

“We’re best friends! That’s another person I can relate to and I ask for advice with everything. We’re really great friends and that’s never going to change.”

The deep friendship apparently allowed Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth to be at ease with each other, scripting the on-stage kiss to represent the themes of “Marvin Gaye,” Charlie Puth explained.

“That was all planned. When I wrote ‘Marvin Gaye,’ the original intention was to make a record that people could just dance to and fall in love to or have sex to immediately upon hearing it.”

And the planning of the kiss was initiated by Meghan Trainor. Charlie Puth confirmed the rumor; “it was Meghan’s [idea], actually.”

Since their onstage kiss, Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth have kept a relatively low profile, focusing on their music and not their PDA. However, Meghan Trainor brought up the subject in a recent interview with Seventeen Magazine. When discussing her close friendship with Charlie Puth, Meghan Trainor mentioned that the pair had locked lips on another occasion, Meghan Trainor explained.

“Probably one drunk make-out. I don’t know if he’s going to be mad I said that! We were next to each other, recording a duet, and then I think I kissed him… It was cool. And then we never did it again. Ever. When we’d hang out, it would be like buddies.”

Later in the interview with Seventeen Magazine, Meghan Trainor revealed that she is currently single, partly as a result of her newfound fame.

“It’s hard because when I wasn’t famous, I got attention. Guys flirted with me all the time. And then I got famous, and guys won’t look at me! And if they do, they’re terrified. There was a part where I was just like, ‘Yo, am I hideous?’ How am I not getting hit on? I’m super-cool. I’m super-pretty. I’ve never dressed better. I should be getting guys lined up!”

As for Charlie Puth, he hasn’t issued any statement surrounding his dating status but he has recently been linked to Selena Gomez. Charlie Puth, though was quick to deny this. According to Hollywood Life, Charlie Puth was asked about the rumor on the Elvis Duran Show. He gave an adamant response, saying “I’m not dating Selena Gomez. There is nothing to say.”

Meghan Trainor will release her second studio album, Thank You on May 13, 2016. Additionally, the “All About The Bass” singer announced she is heading out on tour this summer earlier this week.

The two are in the midst of a busy year. These friends have been able to share both chemistry and success. At the least, Charlie Puth can say that his kiss with Meghan Trainor was better than the singer’s first kiss, a smooch she called “terrible” earlier this year.
