‘Million Dollar Listing New York’ Stars Speak Out About Fredrik’s Miscarriage News

Million Dollar Listing New York returned last night on Bravo, and the season started out with some devastating news. On the previous season, Fredrik Eklund and his husband, Derek Kaplan, had finally found someone who wanted to donate their eggs. They didn’t waste any time, and it didn’t take long for them to learn that they were, indeed, pregnant. Fredrik shared the news a bit too early with his Million Dollar Listing New York fans, and he was devastated to learn that he had lost the twins in a miscarriage.

According to a new Bravo report, Fredrik’s Million Dollar Listing New York co-stars are now sharing their thoughts about the experience. While many people are very supportive of Eklund’s decision to open up about the miscarriage, others don’t agree with two men having a child. Luckily, it sounds like the Million Dollar Listing New York guys are nothing but supportive. And Fredrik felt alright watching the first episode of the season.

“I watched it and I feel OK watching it,” Fredrik has revealed to Bravo about watching the miscarriage on television, adding, “I’m very proud of this season for me. It’s not that I wasn’t honest in the other seasons, but I think [and] I hope everyone’s going to see a different side of me.”

Of course, there is another guy who is severely affected by this miscarriage. Million Dollar Listing New York star Derek Kaplan, who is Fredrik’s husband, was also excited about becoming a father. Derek had been in London and had missed the Million Dollar Listing New York premiere, but Eklund hoped they could watch it together. As he points out, his husband is much more private and may not want to share too much on Million Dollar Listing New York.

“I hope I’m going to watch it with him tonight,” Fredrik said about his husband, adding, “I think he thinks it’s a little too much, maybe. He’s much more [private].”

Eklund may be a top broker and he may be in constant competition with his co-stars, but it sounds like they understood what he was going through on Million Dollar Listing New York. While Ryan and Luis are not parents or expecting a child, they could see and understand how devastated their co-star was over losing the twins.

“I think it’s a great episode. I think for your story, a lot people knew about what happened through media outlets, but nobody has actually seen it from your preservative,” Luis Ortiz has revealed about the news, adding, “Nobody has heard what you have to say about all of this. So I think it’s great to see that, including myself. When I saw it, I thought it was, I said in a weird way, it was great how we talk about something so unfortunate.”

And even Ryan Serhant had something positive to say about his Million Dollar Listing New York co-star, saying that it is a story like this that helps make this season more raw and honest.

“The whole season is very honest and raw,” Ryan Serhant shared, adding, “And we kind of kicked our shoes off and whatever happens, happens.”

Of course, many people watch Million Dollar Listing New York to see the amazing listings in New York, but over the years fans have learned more about these agents and they have become invested in their stories. It’s admirable that these agents open up as much as they do, including sharing a proposal in Times Square, health issues due to stress and now a miscarriage.
