Prince Cause Of Death At 57 To Be Revealed In Autopsy Amid Drug & Frail Health Clues? Celebrities Honor On Twitter

Prince was discovered dead at his Minneapolis home on Thursday. Now, as celebrities turn to Twitter and Instagram to share their grief and honor the legendary musical artist with tributes, a post-mortem examination is scheduled for today to reveal the cause of Prince’s death, reported the Mirror.

Called “the greatest performer I have ever seen” by Sir Elton John in one of many celebrity tributes, Prince was found collapsed in an elevator in his house. After medical staff members attempted to revive the musician, 57, he was pronounced dead, revealed Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson.

The results of the autopsy are anticipated to reveal the cause of his sudden collapse. However, according to TMZ, Prince was treated for a drug overdose only days prior.

And there were also signs of health problems. During a flight home after a show in Atlanta, Georgia, Prince became ill. That occurred on April 15, and the musician’s jet detoured for an emergency landing in Illinois. After he went to a hospital via ambulance, Prince was treated and released within hours.

Following that health scare earlier this month, Prince’s spokesperson told fans that the musician was better and resting at home. He even appeared five days ago for a dance party, which took place at his estate.

“Just wait a few days before saying your prayers,” Prince told fans at that time.

However, several days later, the 911 call came. Responding paramedics attempted CPR, but were unable to revive him.

Among those celebrities paying tribute were on Instagram were Madonna, Spike Lee, and Sir Elton.

“He Changed The World!! A True Visionary. What a loss. I’m Devastated,” posted Madonna.

“I Miss My Brother. Prince Was A Funny Cat. Great Sense Of Humor,” praised Spike.

Sir Elton termed the loss of the musical idol “devastating,” recalling how he sang with him.

“The greatest performer I have ever seen. A true genius. Musically way ahead of any of us. Sang with him twice on stage. What an honour. Rest in peace you purple warrior.”

As for hints that something was wrong with physically wrong with Prince prior to his collapse, however, there were clues that he was suffering from failing health, according to the New York Times.

The health crisis that caused his jet to detour for an emergency landing was caused only by the flu, claimed a spokesperson for Prince. But although the results of the autopsy, which will be conducted by a local medical examiner, are usually not known for several days, the musical legend also had previously admitted he was not feeling well during his last public performance.

After compensating for canceled shows, Prince told the crowd about his health concern.

“A little under the weather,” admitted the singer. “We’re here now.”

However, at a party that attracted fans, one of them, Scott Gregoria, noted signs of illness.

“[Prince appeared] a little more weak, a little more pale than when I had seen him before,” said Gregoria.

In addition, rather than perform, the singer used a recording of a show.

As for the specifics on the allegations that drugs were involved, TMZ reports that Prince had been treatment for a drug overdose less than a week prior to his collapse.

Despite his representatives’ statements that his jet’s emergency landing was due to the flu, TMZ cites sources alleging that he had been taken to the hospital to receive a “save shot” from physicians, usually given because of an opiate.

Moreover, although doctors recommended that Prince remain in the hospital for a full 24 hours, he left after learning no private room was available, although he was described as “not doing well.”

To assist in determining the cause of death, in addition to the autopsy, those hospital records may be used.

For now, however, the world is mourning the loss, and Twitter overflows with Prince tributes from celebrities, noted E! News.

Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres, Demi Lovato, and Nick Jonas were among those celebrities honoring the legendary performer, as well as Celine Dion.

Oprah Winfrey expressed her sorrow.

“Prince the doves really are crying now. Listening to your music. Remembering you. #RIPPrince,” wrote Oprah.

And many celebrities mourned that he was gone too soon, while others struggled to accept the loss while paying tribute.
