Nathan Fillion ‘Bullied’ Stana Katic, Left Her In Tears On ‘Castle’ Set [Report]

Nathan Fillion was allegedly a bully to Castle co-star Stana Katic before she was fired from the series this week.

Us Weekly is alleging that Nathan and Stana had serious tension on the set of the ABC drama and is claiming that their constant friction supposedly left Katic in tears on a number of occasions.

“Stana would cry on set because Nathan was such a bully to her,” a source told Us Weekly of the supposed Castle on-set friction.

Another claimed that “Stana would go in her dressing room and cry” over the drama.

“The friction was very evident,” the source continued of Stana and Nathan to the site this week, claiming that Fillion was “nasty” to Katic long before ABC decided not to renew her contract for the upcoming ninth season of the show.

“Stana was a pro, she just wanted to get in there and do her job,” the insider added.

Us Weekly’s source also claimed that “a lot of people who work on the show don’t like Nathan” but did not clarify which crew and cast members supposedly also have bad blood with Katic’s former co-star.

The latest reports that there was serious friction between Stana and Nathan, who appeared alongside each other on Castle since the show first began in 2009, follows previous claims from the site that alleged ABC ordered Katic and Fillion to undergo couple’s therapy last year in order to work on their fractured relationship.

“This season, it got so out of hand they made Stana and Nathan go to couples counseling together,” an insider revealed of the two’s friction, adding that the former co-stars “despise” each other and refused to speak when they were off set.

While neither Stana Katic nor Nathan Fillion have directly addressed Us Weekly’s latest claims, Nathan did address his co-star of seven years leaving the show in a message posted to his official Twitter page on April 19.

Castle has been one of the greatest joys of my creative life, and I hope the show continues on for years to come,” Fillion wrote on his official Twitter page. “Stana has been my partner all this time, and I thank her for creating the character of Beckett who will live on for all of us as one of the greatest police officers on television.”

Nathan Fillion then added, “I wish her well, and have no doubt she will succeed in everything she pursues,” before noting that Stana “will be missed.”

But despite claims that Stana and Nathan did not get along on set, Deadline previously reported that it wasn’t their alleged drama that caused ABC to drop Katic from the series.

According to Deadline, ABC instead opted not to renew Stana Katic’s contract to appear in the upcoming ninth season of Castle due to undisclosed “budgetary reasons.”

The site claimed this week that those working behind the scenes on the drama began negotiations with Fillion “for a new deal” at the start of the year, but Katic was allegedly “never approached” to renew her contract “and was not offered an opportunity to continue on the show.”

Stana issued a statement to the site regarding her departure on April 18, although she did not clarify exactly why she will not be appearing in the new season.

“Rather than distract from what was an amazing experience, I would just like to say that I’m very grateful to ABC for giving me the opportunity to be a part of a much beloved show,” Stana said. “Thank you to the fans.”
