NFL Rumors: Sam Bradford Upset About Philadelphia Eagles Trade

NFL rumors are swirling around Sam Bradford. According to CBS Sports, he was none too pleased that the Philadelphia Eagles decided to trade away several assets in the upcoming draft to acquire the second overall selection. The belief is that the team will be choosing a quarterback. That means that Bradford might not be the starter any more despite signing a big contract earlier in the year.

The first two guys being chosen in the NFL are more than likely going to be quarterbacks. Carson Wentz and Jared Goff have skyrocketed to the top of the list because the league is desperate to find guys that can throw the ball and run an offense. There aren’t too many of them available. That’s why teams in the National Football League are willing to overspend to ensure that they have a starting caliber player at the position. Backup quarterbacks are now being paid like starters.

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Rams paid a ransom to ensure that they get to choose first in the NFL Draft. The team is desperately needing a quarterback. Nick Foles didn’t work out the way that they had hoped when they traded for him. Case Keenum has been announced as the starter for the Rams. Very few in the organization believe that he’s a long-term answer. That’s the reason why they pulled the trade with the Tennessee Titans.

Even though the Los Angeles Rams moved into the first overall spot in the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles did not want to give up on their chances of acquiring one of the top two quarterbacks. The Rams haven’t decided between Carson Wentz and Jared Goff yet. However, it appears that the Eagles are perfectly fine with taking whichever one is not selected by the Eagles. Philadelphia feels that Wentz and Goff both have potential to be franchise quarterbacks.

Sam Bradford was under the impression that he was the franchise quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. He believed that because management gave him a $36 million contract, $22 million of which are guaranteed. Of course, the Eagles only committed to Bradford for two seasons. That means that there are those within the organization that are not fully on board with the former Oklahoma Sooners star.

While he didn’t make a lot of noise when it happened, Sam Bradford might have been upset with the Philadelphia Eagles when they signed Chase Daniel. The former Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback was handed a three-year contract worth $21 million. That’s a lot of money for a backup in the NFL. It’s the kind of money that you pay someone that might need to start. Bradford would have had to look over his shoulders all season.

With the way things are going, the Philadelphia Eagles may need to move Sam Bradford to another NFL team. Not only does he have to worry about Chase Daniels, but he also has to worry about the second overall draft pick. General managers put their careers on the line whenever they choose someone in the first round. Some have a tendency to put pressure on the head coach to play those guys. Bradford is aware of this since he was the first overall selection by the Los Angeles Rams.

Even before the big trade, the Philadelphia Eagles were going to be under the spotlight. That happens when you go from Chip Kelly to Doug Pederson. Now, people are going to be more curious about the Eagles because they want to see how Sam Bradford handles himself. He’s already reportedly upset with the situation. Bradford might grow to become even more frustrated once Carson Wentz or Jared Goff is on the roster.
