Kenny G Files For Divorce, Ends 20 Years Of Marriage

Kenny G will no longer be serenading wife Balynda Helene Benson-Gorelick with his smooth saxaphone sounds. The musician who has been married for the last 20 years filed for divorce on August 9.

Kenn, real name Kenneth Bruce Gorelick, filed his official divorce papers in L.A. Superior Court. In the court filing Kenny G asks for shared custody of the couple’s 14-year-old son Noah.

The 56-year-old and his wife wed in 1992 but separated in January 2012. The couple have a prenuptial agreement although details from that contract have not been revealed. Analysts estimate that the Kenny G estate is worth upwards of $50 million.

Benson-Gorelick also filed her own legal separation papers in January and in her filing she asked for full physical custody of Noah. Both Kenny and Helene listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for their dissolving marriage.

Kenny’s divorce papers were filed by famed Hollywood divorce lawyer Lauren Wasser, the same representation sought by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Angelina Jolie during their own divorce trials.

Kenny G will try to take his mind off the divorce with a series of concerts scheduled for September. In June the songwriter released a new album titledNamaste India.

Nothing at this point in time reveals a nasty Hollywood style divorce is on the horizon, although with $50 million up for grabs I wouldn’t be surprised by anything at this point.

The soon-to-be former couple both remain relatively silent about the ending to their two decade long marriage.
