Hearse Driver Dies While Transporting Dead Body

A hearse driver was found dead outside of a hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Monday afternoon. The driver was reportedly on duty, had a body in the casket, and was on her way to a funeral.

A police statement reads:

“The operator of the hearse was discovered deceased in the driver’s seat… The hearse was on duty and in the process of transporting a decedent.”

Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said that authorities were alerted at about 3 pm on Monday that a body was slumped over in the front seat of the hearse, which was parked outside of the Beverly Hills Hotel.

A cause of death has not been determined, but police do not believe any foul play was involved. Hoshino said that an initial investigation revealed no drugs, weapons, or evidence of violence. Hoshino believes that the woman died of natural causes.
