Joe Jonas Ready To Slam Gigi Hadid: Has The DNCE Frontman Finally Moved On?

There was a time last year when Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid were the hot couple of Hollywood. The stars made several appearances out in public and on each other’s social media accounts until their split in late November. They even double dated with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Calvin Harris.

Reports speculated Gigi Hadid left the DNCE frontman for former One Direction member Zayn Malik. Now it looks like Jonas is ready to reveal what really happened – in song. The former JoBro is finally opening up about his split with Hadid through a new track in collaboration with his band.

Earlier this month, Joe spoke to Entertainment Tonight’s Katie Krause about a mysterious tweet that sent his fans in a tizzy back in February.

“Always fun writing a song that’s gonna piss someone off,” the tweet coyly read, complete with a winking emoji.

Fans assumed that the tweet was about Jonas’ famous ex-girlfriend. Though the 26-year-old didn’t reveal who the message was really about, he did explain the creative process that he goes through when writing songs.

“Songwriting is an artist’s way of expressing their journal and their personal life. I don’t really do much speaking on my personal life, so the fact that I get to probably answer a few questions – people are wondering what I’m thinking about – so it’s nice to be able to put that out there.”

Joe doesn’t plan to name names, but he added that fans will “definitely know” who his new song is about once they hear it.

“As of right now, you’ll definitely know who it’s about [when you hear it],” he added. “But sometimes you have to sugarcoat it so it’s not so obvious.”

Jonas also revealed to ET that his band are finally working on their full-length debut album, which they hope to release sometime this summer. Expect more of Jonas’ summertime jams like “Cake by the Ocean” and “Toothbrush.”

“I would say August, late August — and we’re just grinding away in the studio. I’m going into the studio right after this to finish a track, so there’s a lot of exciting new music I’ve been working on that isn’t on [our 2015 debut] EP [SWAYY].”

But it could come sooner since Joe Jonas’ band has finally scored a deal with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), according to a new report on Billboard. Jonas is managed by Phil McIntyre, CEO, and Philymack. In addition, DNCE will open for Selena Gomez on her North American tour throughout most of the summer, which will probably correspond with their debut album.

When Joe dated Gigi, she directed DNCE’s previous music video for “Cake by the Ocean.” But now she’s starring in some of Zayn Malik’s music videos instead. Now that she’s moved on, Joe has decided to nab Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Ashley Graham in a top secret video that hasn’t been announced yet. It’s unclear whether or not this video will be the new diss track that Joe has been talking about.

Jonas and Hadid ended their relationship after five months of dating. Their sudden breakup took place after they walked on the red carpet as a couple. Both Jonas and Hadid have said that their busy work schedules got in the way of their relationship, but rumors claimed that Jonas felt “blindsided” when he learned that Hadid quickly moved on with Malik.

“Joe was completely blindsided when he found out that Gigi and Zayn were an item. He was under the impression that she wasn’t going to see anyone for a while. The main reason why they broke up in the first place was because of her busy schedule. Gigi told Joe that her career was too demanding for a relationship. That she basically didn’t have the time for one because she needed to focus on her career. She’s obviously making the time for Zayn!”

Those feelings will certainly be expressed in song, but it seems like Jonas has been doing well for himself. Earlier this year, he was spotted with an entourage of models in Hollywood. Then he sparked the romance rumors with Costa Rican model Juliana Herz, who he began dating in February.
