Salma Hayek Blasts Donald Trump Over 9/11 7-Eleven Slip-Up

Salma Hayek is blasting Donald Trump following the presidential hopeful’s embarrassing 9/11 “7-Eleven” slip-up.

Hayek took to social media on April 19 to put Trump on blast following his recent slip of the tongue, where Salma publicly shamed the businessman for his recent mistake.

“I am a dyslexic Mexican and English is my second language,” Hayek told her more than 100,000 Twitter followers this week, “however even I do not confuse 7/11 with 9/11 #DonaldTrump.”

Salma’s pretty scathing tweet aimed at Donald Trump has since been re-tweeted more than 2,000 times by Hayek’s fellow Twitter users and divided opinion to inspire some unique responses from the star’s social media followers.

“@salmahayek To be fair, you’re a goddess while Trump is lower than a fool,” Twitter user @Arturo_Ulises tweeted back to Salma, while @butterflybesos9 wrote to Hayek, “@salmahayek speak the truth!”

Other social media users opted to slam the actress for calling out Trump.

“Slip of the tongue WE HAVE ALL DONE IT unless u r an IMPORTANT MOVIE STAR,” @CSPJO told Hayek, while @MDI_LLC wrote to Salma, “You’re also pretty stupid if you can’t see that as an honest slip of the tongue – anyway you’ll pay for the wall.”

Salma’s message comes after Donald mistakenly referred to 9/11 as the convenience store “7-Eleven” while attempting to praise the heroes of the 2001 tragedy during a speech in Buffalo on April 18.

“It’s very close to my heart,” Trump told event-goers, according to the New York Post, “I watched our police and our firemen down on 7-Eleven, down at the World Trade Center, right after it came down, and I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”

Salma’s social media take-down of Donald Trump came just days after the actress publicly voiced her support for Hillary Clinton on the 140-character site.

Salma Hayek took to the site to support Trump’s competitor on April 14, where she posted a tweet that included a photo of the two together and a caption packed with a whole lot of praise for the presidential hopeful.

“Catching up w/@HillaryClinton, @Gallup’s #mostadmiredwoman 18x!” Salma captioned the photo, which also featured the hashtags #hillyes, #imwithher, and #wcw.

Salma previously blasted Donald Trump in a public email sent to Trump’s camp, according to Latin Times, where Hayek, who hasn’t been shy about her support for Hillary Clinton, called out the presidential hopeful over his highly controversial remarks about Mexican citizens.

“It’s incredible that the leading candidate of the Republican Party has been irresponsibly campaigning, using unfounded and insulting accusations against the Latino community to win votes,” Salma wrote in her email back in October 2015, according to the site.

“We are one of the largest, youngest, and fastest-growing groups in the United States of America,” Salma Hayek continued in the email. “We deserve a candidate who respects the contributions we have made to this country and understands how important it is that our community continues to thrive, all while treating us con dignidad y respeto.”

Salma Hayek showed support for Hillary Clinton after she joined the presidential candidate in her “Latinos for Hillary” campaign and has also voiced her support for Hillary to Latina magazine.

Salma told the magazine during her October 2015 cover feature that she has “a lot of hope for Hillary” should she become the first female president of the United States.

“We need somebody with experience who can endure,” Hayek continued of Hillary. “And this woman has endured it all. Hillary is tough.”
