Why Everyone Loves Julia Roberts, From Jennifer Aniston To Jodie Foster

Julia Roberts made fellow actress Jennifer Aniston starstruck, according to Headlines & Global News. The 47-year-old Friends star revealed what it was like working alongside Roberts in their upcoming film Mother’s Day.

Aniston shared a few things about Mother’s Day while debuting the upcoming Garry Marshall’s film at TLC Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The Friends actress told reporters she had messed up her line in the first take because she was starstruck by Julia Roberts.

Aniston said she was intimidated and nervous to work around Julia Roberts, adding that she even called her “Julia” in the first take.

“It’s just a different thing when you get to work with them and then you’re doing what you both do, [but] together.”

When asked what exactly intimidated Aniston to share the screen with the Oscar-winning actress, the Friends star replied, “Because it’s Julia Roberts!”

However, it must be noted that the two actresses have been friends for several decades.

Julia Roberts and Aniston previously starred in an episode of Friends back in 1996. According to Aniston, being friends with a celebrity and actually working with that celebrity are two completely different things.

The interesting thing is that while Aniston was intimidated by working with Julia Roberts, their Mother’s Day co-star Shay Mitchell said she was freaking out to work alongside the Friends star. Mitchell revealed at the film’s premiere that Aniston is “wonderful” and “amazing to work with.”

And while Aniston accidentally called Julia Roberts by her real name while shooting one of the scenes for Mother’s Day, Mitchell had a similar problem. But in her case, she did her best to not call Aniston by her Friends character name – Rachel.

“I was just scared that I would say, ‘Rachel!’ The whole time I was like, ‘Shh, shh.'”

Mother’s Day marks the fourth collaboration between Julia Roberts and director Marshall, after Valentine’s Day, Pretty Woman, and Runaway Bride. The comedy opens in theaters on April 29 and also stars Britt Robertson (who starred in Tomorrowland), Kate Hudson (from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days), Jason Sudeikis (famous for his role in Horrible Bosses), and Timothy Olyphant (from Justified).

In her interview with E! Online, Aniston revealed she loves Julia Roberts and that she has known her forever, which is why it was fun to share the screen with the 48-year-old actress.

“I was actually a little nervous, I have to say… She’s so super awesome. She’s funny. Oh, she’s funny.”

Jodie Foster, the director of upcoming movie Money Monster starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney, says she still cannot believe she managed to get Roberts into the film, according to Zee News.

This is Foster’s first directorial project since 2011’s The Beaver, which is why it was especially exciting for her to find out that Julia Roberts had actually signed up for the new film. The actor-turned-director also revealed she was pinching herself when Roberts agreed to play the role.

“George and Julia give truly substantial performances in the movie.”

Foster revealed she even did “some victory dance” after Julia Roberts was signed for the movie, which hits theaters May 13.

The plot of Money Monster centers around Lee Gates (played by Clooney), a TV financial guru, who hosts a show produced by Patty Fenn (played by Julia Roberts). Gates uncovers wide-scale corruption after a disgruntled gambler (played by Jack O’Connell), who lost a fortune after following Clooney character’s recommendations, holds him at gunpoint during a live broadcast.

The film brought Julia Roberts and Clooney together after a 12-year-break. Clooney and Roberts last shared the screen in 2004’s Oceans 12. Apart from Clooney, Roberts, and O’Connell, Money Monster also stars Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito, and Caitriona Balfe.
