Dolph Lundgren: Brains And Brawn

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name Dolph Lundgren?

Most people would probably say “big and blonde” or “tough guy” if asked this question, but not many would say “smart” or “intelligent” right off the bat. However, Dolph Lundgren really is a very intellectual person.

According to Huffington Post, the “Rocky IV” star, Lundgren is a very educated man and possesses a master’s degree in chemical engineering. In addition to his hard earned master’s degree, Dolph was on his way to MIT before he was cast in the James Bond movie, “A View To Kill”.

That’s right THE MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)…not bad for a “big, blonde, tough guy”.

In Lundgren’s new movie “The Expendables 2“, audiences laughed when his character was said to be a chemical engineer. An interview shows how Lundgren felt about the reaction,

At one point it’s mentioned that your character is a chemical engineer, which drew laughter from the audience. I’m not sure they realized that you actually are a chemical engineer. Do people know that?

Some people realize it. Yeah, it is funny — it’s almost bizarre to myself to realize, somehow, I used to be an engineer. I used to study every day and do equations and math and physics. But 25 years of shooting people and running around in camouflage, somehow it’s been made full circle and people are going, “You used to be a chemical engineer? That’s great!” It feels pretty good, in one way, but it’s hard to believe. I don’t know how it happened.

The “Masters of the Universe” star was also offered to run for office in Sweden as a member of parliament for one of their parties. He declined the offer because he didn’t want to move back to Sweden and live there full-time.

Moral of the story? Don’t underestimate and stereotype tall blonde guys…especially those who can go toe-to-toe with Rocky.
