$100 Million Apartment Goes Up For Sale

A $100 million apartment has just hit the market in New York City.

Yes, $100 million.

The premium penthouse sits in midtown-Manhattan and offers a panoramic view of the city. The octagon-shaped apartment contains 8,000 square feet spread out over three floors. It has its own elevator, wraparound terraces, a wine cellar that can hold 1,000 bottles, six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and 135 windows. According to Raphael De Niro, Rober De Niro’s son and the owner of the exclusive listing, the $100 million apartment offers the “highest outdoor residential space in the city.”

The apartment was bought in 1993 by real estate developer Steven Klar. Klar paid $4.5 million. If Klar gets his asking price, he’ll make $95.5 million off of the apartment. Well, Klar said that he has put in at least $5 million into renovations, which drops his profit down to a measly $90 million. But it’s not about the money for Klar. The real estate developer said that he decided to sell the apartment because he didn’t want his 5-year-old son to fall off one of the terraces.

Wmur.com reports that the $100 million apartment is the most expensive listing in the history of the New York real estate market.
