Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ 22 Weeks In Hot 100 Top 10 Sets New Record

Justin Bieber just can’t stop breaking records. The superstar’s “Love Yourself” single is the first song to spend 22 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 since its debut on the chart. In short: Justin Bieber just made history. Again.

“Love Yourself” is the third single from Bieber’s acclaimed, over four million-seller Purpose album. The new 22-week chart record exceeds the 21 weeks in the Top 10 feat he achieved with his previous singles, “What Do You Mean?” and “Sorry,” from the same album.

Bieber’s “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean?” ties their 21 week record with Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” (2012) and Maroon 5’s “Sugar” (2015). Thus, “Love Yourself” is the one of three Bieber songs to hit that 21 weeks milestone.

In addition to notching up 22 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of Billboard’sHot 100 since its chart debut on the December 5 chart, “Love Yourself” spends a tenth week at No. 1 on Radio Songs.

The track hasn’t left the Hot 100’s top 10 since its arrival on the chart.

Back in January, Bieber’s “What Do You Mean” hit 21 weeks in the Hot 100’s top 10, with “Sorry” doing the same last month, in March. Chart-wise, “Love Yourself” drops from No. 6 to No. 8 on the Hot 100.

Previously, the Ed Sheeran-Justin Bieber penned track topped the Hot 100 for two non-consecutive weeks. It also reached No. 1 in major markets around the world, including Australia and the U.K.

Although the 22-year-old superstar’s “Love Yourself” grabs the spotlight this week, it is worth noting Purpose is still in the Top 10 of Billboard’s 20 album chart (at No. 8), five months after it dropped on November 13.

Meanwhile, Justin is on track to set another record. In March, the Canadian singer’s “Sorry” dance video broke South Korean pop star Psy’s record as the fastest male solo artist to reach 1 billion views on VEVO.

Following mobilized streaming of the video by Bieber fans, “Sorry” punched in 1 billion views in 137 days by the morning of March 7, breaking the 158-day record held by Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”

Bieber, of course, first tallied one billion VEVO views with his music video for his signature 2010 classic “Baby” back in February 2014.

Currently, “What Do You Mean?” has over 952,000,000 views. It is expected to reach one billion later this month. Once it does, Bieber will set the record as the first artist with three one billion-view videos on VEVO.

Last month, the heartthrob became the first artist to reach 10 billion video views on VEVO. At the time, Billboard reported that four billion of those views were accrued from the official music videos for Purpose singles.

Meanwhile, Justin resumes his Purpose World Tour when he plays St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 19, after his four day break on the island of Antigua with his father, Jeremy, and younger brother, Jaxon.

Fan-obtained pictures of Bieber in Antigua, revealed the singer taking a trip on a boat, swimming, and hanging out with locals. Oh, and setting a brand new Hot 100 chart record with “Love Yourself.”
