‘Ev and Ocho’ Cancelled By VH1

It’s been a bad week for the man formerly known as Chad Ochocinco. Chad Johnson was arrested over the weekend for allegedly headbutting his wife and reality show co-star Evelyn Lozada. Since his arrest, the NFL player has been charged with domestic abuse, he has been kicked off of the Miami Dolphins, and VH1 just just cancelled his show Ev and Ocho.

The network told the NY Daily News:

“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”

Johnson and Lozada were reportedly in a heated argument on Saturday night after the reality star found a pack of condoms in the trunk of his car. The altercation turned physical and Johnson allegedly headbutted his wife.

Johnson’s NFL career has been on shaky ground for a while but he managed to ink a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins this off-season. That went away, however, shortly after news broke about his arrest.

Miami Coach Joe Philbin said:

“With any type of these decisions, it was not an easy one… It was not reactive, nor was it based on one single incident… In making these decisions, we base our evaluations on a set of criteria that supports our organizational goals and includes a player’s performance both on and off the field.”

In the span of just a few days, Chad Johnson has lost his spot on the Miami Dolphins, was dropped from his reality show Ev and Ocho, and was charged with serious domestic abuse charges. Johnson may also see a divorce in his future and will probably lose some great exposure on HBO’s Hard Knocks this year.

Still, it’s pretty difficult to feel sorry for the guy. What do you think? Do you sympathize for Chad Johnson?
