Dove Cameron Confirms Engagement To Ryan McCartan With Cute Instagram Post

Love is in the air on the set of Liv and Maddie!

Co-stars Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan are engaged! On Thursday, April 14, Ryan posted his 1,000 post on Instagram, a cute picture of himself and Dove, and dedicated the picture to his “fiancée” in the caption.

Since then fans awaited Dove’s confirmation of the engagement and Dove didn’t disappoint. The following day she posted her own cute Instagram post saying she preferred calling Ryan her “fiancée” anyway.

The next day, on April 16, Dove tweeted this very cute and simple tweet, which seems to be referring to her engagement as well.

Dove and Ryan met on the set of Disney Channel’s hit show Liv and Maddie, where their characters Maddie and Diggie dated. Their on-screen relationship has had it’s ups and downs but Dove and Ryan’s real life relationship has stayed solid, giving their fans something to constantly swoon over since they took their relationship public in August 2013.

For both Ryan, 22, and Dove, 20, this will be their first marriages and there’s no doubt their Liv and Maddie co-stars will be in attendance at the wedding. Dove’s co-star and good friend, Jessica Marie Garcia, is already teasing Dove about her impending nuptials on Twitter.

Anyone that’s been following Dove and Ryan’s love story wasn’t all that surprised to hear they’re (finally!) engaged. Besides working together on Liv and Maddie the two also started a band together called The Girl and the Dreamcatcher. Dove and Ryan started out just doing covers of some of their favorite songs on YouTube before they settled on a band name and began touring as a musical duo in 2015, according to E! News.

The same day Ryan announced their engagement, the duo released their lyric video for their latest single, “Someone You Like,” that is the perfect love song to describe Dove and Ryan’s relationship. Both Dove and Ryan have confessed in the past that they fell for each other almost instantaneously, and it’s no surprise since their relationship sounds like something straight out of a movie.

“I took [Dove] out to dinner, [then] I took her out to frozen yogurt, and we went to this place in Hollywood called Bourgeois Pig and got some cider,” Ryan told J-14 about his first date with Dove. “We sat in this really cute room and just drank some cider and talked. Then I took her up to this place up in the Hollywood Hills that has basically a panoramic view of all of Hollywood and all of the valley. So we saw all the lights, the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Park Observatory, and it was so romantic. We were up there until three in the morning just like talking and looking at the lights. Then I took her home and it was the most perfect, most romantic first date ever.”

These two are seriously relationship goals! If the story of their first date didn’t make you believe in true love just check out how their first kiss went.

“We went to this park, because [Ryan’s] just like Romeo,” Dove Cameron told Fanlala. “I leaned in to kiss him on the cheek, and he turned his head really quickly and kissed me, because he knew that I was too shy to just kiss him. So, he like tricked me into it… He said that was the moment he knew that he was going to have feelings for me for a long time. He was like, ‘I totally fell for you when you freaked out when I kissed you.’ ”

Dove and Ryan are absolutely adorable together and it’s no surprise that they’re now ready to tie the knot. It’s too soon to know when Dove and Ryan will actually get married but we can’t wait to hear about what will probably be the cutest wedding ever. Congrats Dove and Ryan!
