Rihanna recently went on the offensive, claiming that her former accounting team at Berdon LLP caused her to lose millions of dollars while taking larger than normal commissions for their failed work.
According to Rihanna, the accounting firm failed to tell her in 2009 that her Last Girl on Earth concert tour was actually losing her money.
Rihanna then goes on to claim that Berdon LLP was taking a crazy 22 percent commission from each paycheck the singer earned, a number high above the standard commission paid to accountants.
Filing legal documents against Rihanna, the team at Berdon says mismanagement of Rihanna’s funds never happened on their end. The company also claims that Rihanna herself signed off on their 22 percen commission level via a standard contract.
The financial firm claims Rihanna’s “own financial action or inaction” led to the loss of millions and not their accounting practices.
A judge has not yet ruled on the case.
In the meantime, Rihanna is continuing to lose money, this time because her strange attitude has caused some sponsors to drop her from campaigns. The biggest of those lost sponsors comes from Nivea who said in a press release that”she doesn’t reflect our values.”
In recent months, some insiders close to the singer have wondered if Rihanna could be headed towards a Britney Spears type meltdown as her behavior has become more unpredictable with every passing day. Rihanna in May acknowledged that she recently had an emotion breakdown following her grueling schedule which at the time included recording a new album.
