Christina Aguilera Exits ‘The Voice’ Amid Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Feud, Tunes Up For ‘American Idol’ Reboot?

The Voice is known for its fondness for fighting metaphors, with knock-out rounds and battle rounds among the most popular features. But new reports have been claiming that there are some battles and attempts at knock-outs going on among the coaches as well. The problems began when Christina Aguilera replaced Gwen Stefani as a coach.

Stefani and Blake Shelton found romance on The Voice when both were coaches last season, and she became a mentor for his team this season. But Aguilera was reportedly upset when she learned that because the displays of affection between the lovebirds are so popular, producers were offering them a special deal, an insider told Radar Online.

“Producers want the two of them to give fans a full-on love-fest this season…they are going to throw in huge bonuses for exclusives, such as on-air duets, engagements, etc.”

Christina responded with hostility, with the insider describing Aguilera as “furious.” Moreover, Christina is having “mini-tantrums,” and even throwing shade.

“[Aguilera] said that Gwen is ‘not vocally talented’ and would not be on the show at all anymore if it was not for her relationship with Blake,” added the in-the-know individual.

However, the country music superstar isn’t participating in the feud that Christina has fired up. Rather than attack Aguilera, he’s expressing his gratitude for the romance that The Voice has brought to his life.

“[He] really does not care what Christina does or says,” explained the insider. “He is a completely different person now… so much more laid-back. He said that he’s grateful the show is the reason that he and Gwen found each other.”

And the problems that Aguilera has on The Voice are not yet over. In a shakeup of The Voice coaches, Christina has been let go along with Pharrell Williams, according to the Wrap.

In addition to Shelton, Adam Levine has signed on again to the show. Replacing the two coaches who are exiting are Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys.

As for the future? Williams is expected to return on an upcoming season, and Stefani also is expected to slide back into one of the big over-sized coach chairs in a future season.

Amid the shakeup reverberations are reports that Aguilera was fired from The Voice, noted the Hollywood Gossip.

Shelton reportedly had been angry that Christina took his girlfriend’s chair, even warning that he might quit. Now that Aguilera has been replaced for next season, did the country crooner get Christina fired?

Fans are speculating that Aguilera was fired because of her feud with Stefani and Shelton, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.

The assumptions are that Christina was let go due to that ongoing conflict or was successfully bumped out by the country crooner.

Where to go after you’ve been a coach on The Voice? Aguilera reportedly is considering becoming a judge for the American Idol reboot, according to sources cited by Latina.

Now that it has been confirmed that Miley Cyrus will take over the chair that Christina is currently keeping warm on The Voice, Aguilera is ready for something similar. With the reports that American Idol will be coming back in a reboot format, Christina reportedly is seen as a contender to join the judging panel.

“It’s not that unlikely we could see another American Idol season, because the ratings this year are better than they’ve been in years,” explained one of Latina‘s sources. “Rumors around Fox studios is that there’s a huge surge of support to give the show another run. And with someone like Christina on board, they would seriously consider a four-person panel this time.”

Although the finale for the final season of American Idol just aired, Fox already is contemplating how to bring back the popular show.

“With a resurgence of ‘think tank’ meetings going on at Fox, the decision to end the show could be reversed at the company’s upfront presentation in May,” revealed one insider.
