Coachella 2016: Set Times For Weekend One Finally Arrive

People have been waiting for the 2016 Coachella set times all week, and it looks like they’re finally here. Whether you’re heading down to Indio, California, or you’re live streaming it from home, you’ll know when your favorite artists and bands will take the stage this weekend.

Only the set times for Weekend One of the 2016 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have been released. The event will run from April 15 to 17 at the Empire Polo Club with an encore performance on April 22 to 24.

There shouldn’t be too many scheduling conflicts, but there are lots of bands performing that day, according to Consequence of Sound. Both Sheer Mag and Mbongwana Star are expected to perform at the Mojave at the same time, at noon.

Day 1 also includes performances by Ellie Goulding, Foals, Gabe Real, M83, Joey Badass, Of Monsters and Men, and Years & Years. LCD Soundsystem will close out Friday night on Coachella’s main stage at 11:10 p.m., but the nearby tents will include exclusive performances from the Lucent Dossier Experience, Purity Ring, and Volbeat during LCD’s set time.

On Saturday, Ice Cube is expected to open for Guns N’ Roses. They will have to duel with DJ Zedd, who will play his EDM beats in the nearby Outdoor Theatre during Cube’s 55-minute set.

There will be many artists and bands competing for attention on the Coachella main stage and the Outdoor Theatre that day, with artists like Disclosure and Halsey playing at the same time as Chvrches and Courtney Barnett.

Day 3 of Coachella includes a performance from Sia on the main stage. Also scheduled for that day are Major Lazer, Matt and Kim, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, RecordSafari, and The 1975. The indie bands and EDM artists will have to make room for the hip-hop artists taking over the Sahara tent. Expect to see performances by DJ Mustard, G-Eazy, Rae Sremmurd, Skepta, and Vince Staples.

Calvin Harris will headline the outdoor music festival at 10:30 p.m. on the Coachella stage. He’s performing to most of Coachella’s audience unless you plan to watch heavy metal band Deafheaven perform at that time.

Since Harris is performing at Coachella, it’s safe to say that his girlfriend Taylor Swift will also be in attendance. The singer recently posted videos on Instagram when she and her friends were at a Las Vegas nightclub watching the DJ spin the turntables. There’s speculation Swift will be at Coachella for the very first time to watch Harris perform and possibly collaborate with him.

If you’re not attending Coachella this year but already having a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out), have no fear. You can see your favorite artists and bands without having to leave your home. Coachella and the San Francisco-based company Vantage.tv are teaming up to provide live streaming content through an app that will give you access to performances, 360-degree views, and behind-the-scenes footage.

During Coachella’s first weekend, YouTube will live stream from the Empire Polo Grounds. The stream will begin in the mid-afternoon and run late into the night. While the live streaming schedule hasn’t been posted yet, Coachella did announce that it will provide three channels of performances and exclusive interviews, just like last year.

Some of the sets will also broadcast live on satellite radio, in case you’re away from home. Sirius/XM is taking care of this year’s broadcast. Last year, the online broadcast also included alternative and electronic music channels.
