Steve Carell And Will Ferrell Will ‘Swear To God’ — With Justin Theroux’s Help

Steve Carell and Will Ferrell will star in the rewritten film Swear To God, which will begin production when Ferrell finishes filming Anchorman 2.

Deadline reports that the collaboration by the comedy actors will also include Justin Theroux, whose credits include Tropic Thunder, Zoolander 2, and Iron Man 2. Theroux will be reqriting the movie’s script, which was originally written by Due Date writers Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland.

Details on Swear To God are few and far between and, while Ferrell is set to play a narcissistic hedge fund manager who believes he has seen God, no word has come on what role Carell will play. The Office and 40-Year-Old Virgin star will most likely be a co-star, according to First Showing, who noted that the film will focus on two characters.

Both Steve Carell and Will Ferrell have been busy acting lately, with Ferrell starring alongside Zach Galifianakis in the new movie The Campaign, while Carell stars with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones in the movie Hope Springs.

Carell is also starring in Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, which is directed by Lorene Scafaria, and also lent his voice as character Gru in Despicable Me 2.

While Adam McKay was originally announced as the director of Swear To God, he is likely too busy to work on the project anytime soon, because he is currently working on Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Swear To God, starring Will Ferrell and Steve Carell, is set to begin filming as soon as the rewritten script is finished, and when Ferrell returns from acting in the Anchorman sequel.
