Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Interviews Heidi Cruz About Donald Trump’s Insults

Megyn Kelly interviewed Heidi Cruz, who could end up being the First Lady if her husband Ted is elected president. Kelly first asked Cruz about her Christian upbringing and how it influenced her.

“My parents are incredible people…They always believed in the view that we are here for a short time on this Earth and that we live for others. We can make a huge difference in this world if we live our lives for others.”

After talking more about her upbringing, Heidi talked about what attracted her to her husband Ted, who she said had a combination of deep intelligence and fun. She revealed that Ted has an incredible command of pop culture and loves to play card games.

Megyn Kelly then asked Cruz to recall the moment when she knew Ted was the right person for her.

“Ted and I both say it was love at first sight. I’m not a big risk taker, so I was sort of surprised to fall in love with someone so quickly. But I saw in Ted someone who questioned the status quo and who sees possibilities where others don’t. I knew this person would have a real impact,” Mrs. Cruz answered.

Heidi also revealed that the night she and Ted married, he went out and bought 100 cans of Chunky Soup. She loaded the cans in her car the next morning and returned them to the grocery store. But she went back and purchased them again when she realized she couldn’t cook for Ted.

Heidi then talked about managing motherhood with her career. She said women shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help when needed. She noted that kids are usually happy when they see that their parents are happy.

Then, Megyn Kelly asked Heidi about the tweet that Trump sent out comparing Heidi Cruz unfavorably to his wife, Melania Trump.

“I don’t tweet. I had the ability to completely ignore it. I think we have a pattern of behavior here that when Donald Trump is falling behind…You know it’s interesting that the timing of that was right before Ted’s sweeping victory in Utah.”

Cruz said that honestly, the tweet didn’t bother her at all since she is too busy campaigning for her husband. She said that her husband’s campaign would never engage in such childish behavior like that.

In regards to Trump threatening to “spill the beans” on her, Heidi Cruz said that things Trump throws out really have no basis in reality. She also said that there is no truth in the stories about Ted Cruz engaging in multiple affairs.

Mrs. Cruz told Megyn Kelly that she had mixed feelings about her husband running for the presidency, especially because their two girls are still young. However, she changed her mind when realizing what a voice her husband could be on constitutional freedom, economic growth, and greater security for our families.

“Ted is just too talented to be out of the debate,” Heidi told Megyn.

Many on Twitter have complimented Heidi Cruz.
