Today’s ‘GTA V’ Update Adds A New Online Adversary Mode

Considering that Grand Theft Auto V‘s online multiplayer mode continues to set new records for both concurrent users and digital sales, it’s no surprise that Rockstar Games keeps adding new content to the game. Hoping to keep the current level of fan engagement high, the developer has once again added yet another new Adversary Mode to GTA Online as part of a minor update that was deployed today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Following the release of the latest Grand Theft Auto Online update early this morning, the developer confirmed on the official Rockstar Newswire blog that players can now try out the new Inch by Inch Adversary Mode. The new match type is described as a team-based mode that requires players to work together in order to win.

In addition to the launch of the Inch by Inch Adversary Mode, Rockstar Games also added the new Vapid Minivan Custom to GTA V. As the Inquisitr reported last week, when the the vehicle was first announced, the update introduced several new modification options to the Vapid Minivan.

With the release of the new custom vehicle, all Minivans in Grand Theft Auto V can now benefit for the full suite of customization options offered exclusively at Benny’s Original Motor Works shop in Los Santos. This means that fans can create their own Vapid Minivan using a wealth of modification options including new paint jobs, custom rims, and lowrider hydraulic kits. Benny’s garage doesn’t just focus on a vehicle’s exterior however. Gamers can also fully customize their new Minivan’s interior with choices in upholstery, dashboard mods, and even new audio stereo systems.

Rockstar Games gave additional details on Grand Theft Auto Online‘s new Inch by Inch mode after the game’s newest match type was first announced last Friday. As the developer explained, this week’s new Adversary Mode places GTA Online users at opposing ends of a play field that is filled with obstacles to help provide cover from enemy fire. In order to score a point, players must pick up a package and deliver it safely to the end zone of the rival squad.

Players can’t expect to be able to carry the package to victory on their own, since the carrier is completely unable to attack. This leaves them defenseless, requiring the rest of the team to offer support to protect the package until a point is scored.

“Prepare to fight tooth and nail for every scrap of progress in Inch By Inch – a new GTA Online Adversary Mode that sees you competing for possession of a Package and clawing your way through a hail of bullets to reach your team’s end zone. After each score, the action immediately resets -ensuring a frenetic and desperate battle of wits and skill. The player carrying the package cannot use their weapons, so tenacity and teamwork are required to advance towards the goal line.”

To give players even more reasons to try out Grand Theft Auto V‘s new Inch by Inch Adversary Mode, Rockstar Games is also currently hosting an in-game event within GTA Online to tempt players with extra rewards just for playing the game. To celebrate the new update, all Inch by Inch matches are paying out double cash and RP from now until Thursday night. Fans can presently find a new event playlist inside the game that includes the Inch by Inch map as well as other Adversary Modes. The bonus rewards are offered from all activities included in the playlist.

Hoping to continue to improve GTA V with even more content in the future, Rockstar games has already announced that they play to add more online modes and vehicles in upcoming updates.
