Jennifer Garner And Ben Affleck: From Amicable To Sour Post-Split?

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have been a hot topic over the past year since rumors that the couple were planning to split began, later showing to be accurate when Ben and Jen announced their separation at the end of June, 2015. Since that day, a media firestorm and a nanny scandal kept the two front and center and targets for the tabloids.

Jen weathered the storm with a gracefulness that she is now commended for and recently spoke with Vanity Fair about the split which resulted in her sharing that their separation had nothing to do with the nanny rumors, as the decision to go their separate ways came months before the allegations began against Affleck. Vanity Fair shared Jen’s candid words on the subject of the “nanny scandal.”

“Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives.”

Garner voiced her love for Ben and the admiration she feels for the father of her children to this day.

“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it. But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”

Ben likewise expressed how much he cares for Garner when he stopped in to speak with Ellen DeGeneres on her hit talk show. Radar Online relays his words about Jen and their kids.

“We’re good friends and we’re doing our best and our kids are fabulous and we’re working our best for them.”

Rumors are now brewing that Garner was not at all okay with her ex speaking out about their relationship publicly. Radar shares apparent words of a source claiming that Jen is not pleased that Ben spoke about her and their children on Ellen. Although she spoke to Vanity Fair, the insider shares that there was a deal that she was allowed to speak out about their situation, but because Ben had wreaked such havoc on them, he was not to.

“Jen went nuclear — she’s livid with Ben. They’d both privately agreed that after everything he put her through, she would be the only one to publicly speak out.”

However, there are new claims that the former couple, who has continued on living together to raised their three children, are now going from having an amicable relationship to one that is getting sour and tense. Sources are alleging that due to Affleck’s upcoming filming schedule that will take him to London, UK, there is tension about whether Jen and the kids will join The Batman V. Superman actor for the duration he will be across the pond. The publication relays a source’s words that indicate Ben’s apparent wishes.

“Ben wants his family close when he’s working, and staying together in a new country will be a great experience, despite himself and Jennifer being no longer a couple.”

Earlier this week, there were allegations that Jen was perhaps considering making the move with her former star husband.
