Action-Packed Snippet Of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Shown At The MTV Movie Awards

Team Captain America kicked butt in a new sneak peek of the movie Captain America: Civil War shown during the 25th anniversary of the MTV Movie Awards.

Marvel aired the short clip from the upcoming flick that got fans freaking out. The scene starts with Captain America appearing in the sky out of nowhere. He is later accompanied by the Falcon and Scarlet Witch, who also jump in on a rescue mission in which they fight a group of soldiers dressed in body armor and military gear.

Before Captain America is joined by his two teammates, he takes down four soldiers all by himself. First, he uses his shield to block a barrage of bullets, then pushes a pick-up truck with his feet to ward off an attacking soldier. The superhero then proceeds to beat down bad guys in rapid succession. He tackles an enemy on top of a car, kicks him, and throws him against the wall of a nearby building.

The Falcon swoops in to take down two more enemies, blocking heavy gunfire with his armored retractable wings. Scarlet Witch is then seen emerging from the sky to join her two teammates. In another part of the video, she takes down hostiles at the Institute for Infectious Diseases, and toward the end of the sneak peek, Captain America is seen kicking one of the hostiles into a wall.

Captain America: Civil War star Chris Evans revealed the clip when he took the stage at the movie awards. The footage is just over a minute long, and despite it being too short for a trailer, the snippet got fans buzzing about the coming theater release of the movie.

Another topic that fans are talking about is the revelation of the new villain, Crossbones. In the sneak peek, the villain is seen sporting heavy armor as he exits a truck.

In the video clip, Captain America and his team try to free his friend Bucky Barnes. This does not seem to sit well with Iron Man, and his reaction remains unclear. Speaking of Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. also appears in the short clip, although he is not seen wearing his famous armored suit.

The movie is less than a month away from its release, and more promos are expected to come out in the coming weeks. The latest sneak peek released at the MTV Movie Awards is reminiscent of the set photos that were released almost a year ago. The latest franchise picks up after the events of the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as well as Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The main plot of the movie revolves around the Marvel heroes dealing with a new status quo after the world’s governments decide that “enhanced individuals” are to be officially regulated. This will then lead to a split, as two teams will be formed amongst the protagonists. One of the teams is led by Iron Man, while the other is by Captain America. Iron Man is for the governmental supervision, while Captain America believes heroes should remain free from any regulation.

It is unclear if there will be press tours, but reports are saying that both Team Iron Man and Team Captain America will be making appearances in the coming weeks.

Early reviews about Captain America: Civil War make the movie sound promising as critics have described it as the most enjoyable Marvel movie yet.

The movie will be storming into theaters this May 6, 2016.
