Sonja Morgan Says She’s Grown Closer To Luann de Lesseps During ‘RHONY’ Hiatus

The Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan is back for another season of the show, but she wasn’t featured much on the premiere episode. Sonja is living in her townhouse all by herself, as her daughter has been shipped off to boarding school. It’s apparently a tradition in the Morgan household, as Sonja’s ex-husband felt that boarding school was a good idea for their daughter. And this decision has left Sonja all alone in her townhouse.

According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan is now revealing that she decided to let Luann move in with her, because they always have a lot of fun together. Plus, these two ladies have become close friends when the show was in hiatus. They actually have a lot in common other than being mothers and divorced women. Sonja was excited to get Luann in her home, as they have a lot of fun.

“You get real intimate time with them, while learning new things about other people’s lifestyles. I love it!” Sonja reveals in her blog about her decision to get Luann de Lesseps to move in with her. Luann had just gotten herself a nice house in the country, but she kept coming back to the city. And rather than buy a place for herself, she thought it would be fun to move in with Sonja Morgan.

In the Real Housewives of New York season premiere, Morgan revealed that she had a hard time adjusting to her daughter being away at boarding school. Of course, Sonja’s daughter isn’t a part of the show and she has never filmed The Real Housewives of New York. Fans only know Sonja as a single woman without a child, because they have never seen her in the mother role on the show. While it was fun to have Luann in her home, Sonja does miss her daughter.

“Having said that, I am still really having a hard time adjusting to my daughter being away. We are very close, and she is my pride and joy, so to be at a distance is hard. She is thriving with all that boarding school offers and all that she can’t get in the city, so it makes me happy—but it doesn’t alleviate the sadness I feel. It really has been sporadic with no set dinner time or meeting her after school for snack and catch up. My schedule is caput now as I set my own business schedule outside my townhouse and get to do a lot of my meetings at home, so it’s not structured. I miss catching up with my daughter over meals, and I’m losing weight not eating. So I’m putting a lot of miles on my car to go visit! The whole thing is unsettling,” Morgan reveals in her blog.

In previous seasons, Sonja and Ramona Singer were practically inseparable. But it sounds like their friendship has been tested, as Morgan and Luann have actually become close friends over the past couple of months. When you head over to Sonja’s Instagram account, there are plenty of pictures of them together.

“I’ve been getting closer to Luann, and it feels great. We have been friends a long time now. More than 10 years. Not as long as my other seemingly lifelong friends, but she is actually my longest new friend since my divorce. Can you imagine? It’s hard to make new friends like that. We met when we were both splitting up with our exes and something gets us through this sorority sister madness. Says a lot,” Sonja Morgan shares, revealing that they are indeed becoming close friends.
