Justin Hartley Speaks Out About Outstanding Lead Actor Nomination For ‘Young And The Restless’

Justin Hartley has done an amazing job since he took over the role of Adam Newman on The Young and the Restless. He had to play a character that viewers are very emotionally invested in and make them love him as Adam. Since then, Justin Hartley has found a way to win over fans and he is even nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series award at the upcoming 43rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Michael Fairman Soaps got the chance to speak to Justin Hartley and get all the details on how he feels about his nomination, and how he chose what scene he wants them to use when they decide if he wins or not. This will all go down on May 1.

Justin Hartley has been an actor for a while, but being nominated for this kind of award is new to him. He came to the show with a lot of fans following him from Mistresses. Justin Hartley spoke out about how he felt when he found out the news that he was nominated.

“I don’t know how these things work and this is my first time being nominated. It’s so subjective, and you never know how these things will go. I was very humbled to be nominated. It’s funny, the way it shakes out when you look at some of the people who were not nominated that are phenomenal, not only do they deserve to be nominated, but win, in fact. That sort of came to my mind first of all. We were on set when I found out, and I think Christian LeBlanc (Michael) started telling everyone who was nominated.”

When it comes to the scene they would look at, Justin Hartley got to pick the one he liked the best. Hartley could pick out 20 different scenes, but he simply picked one. Justin knew that the scene where Adam told Chelsea the truth was the perfect one. Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea, helped him pick and he is pretty sure they both sent in the same reel. This is a fan favorite scene.

Justin Hartley said that they rehearsed these actual scenes extra. The writers knew how important this all coming out was going to be. They did change up a few things on their own, but made sure not to change the story by doing it. He has learned that the writers don’t mind when they do that to make a scene work. Hartley admits that he does want to win, but is glad he was nominated as well. Justin will be up against some guys totally different than him, such as Anthony Geary from General Hospital.

IB Times shared a few upcoming spoilers for this week on The Young and the Restless with Justin Hartley. Adam will be turning to Dylan for some help this week with Victor. Viewers know that Victor has told Adam about his fears of being murdered. Adam doesn’t want to go back in the company, but everyone will have to wait and see how it all plays out next week.
