NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls Trading Jimmy Butler To Boston Celtics

NBA rumors have been swirling around Jimmy Butler as of late. During the trade deadline, the Chicago Bulls were listening to offers for their star guard. Butler may very well be one of the best two way players in the National Basketball Association. Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics have been looking for that next star to take them to the next level. During the trade deadline, the Celtics made an offer most teams wouldn’t refuse to take, according to Fox Sports.

The Chicago Bulls will more than likely be on the verge of missing the NBA Playoffs this season. Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah are set to become free agents this summer. That means the Bulls will be going through a rebuilding phase. Chicago wanted Jimmy Butler to be the next franchise player, but reports have been questioning Butler’s leadership this season thus far. However, Butler can bring back more assets than anyone on the entire Bulls roster.

Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics have been looking for the next franchise player since the trio of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Trading for Jimmy Butler makes a lot of sense for the Celtics. Because Butler might be one of the best of two way players in the National Basketball Association. Boston is also looking to win now instead of waiting for the next prospect in this year’s NBA Draft.

For this trade to happen, the Boston Celtics will have to give up at least two first round picks in this year’s NBA Draft. The Brooklyn Nets have the fourth worst record in the National Basketball Association this season. Boston will have eight total draft picks in June and potentially the first overall pick. If the Celtics are fortunate enough to land the first overall pick, then the possibility of acquiring LSU Tigers star Ben Simmons might be enough to convince the Chicago Bulls to trade Jimmy Butler.

The Chicago Bulls will be looking to start fresh next season under head coach Fred Hoiberg. Trading away Jimmy Butler for Ben Simmons might be interesting for the Bulls. Chicago could possibly get the next LeBron James in Simmons. The possibility of getting that much talent could kick-start the Bulls’ rebuilding phase. Chicago will also be getting another first round pick the NBA Draft. Along with Simmons, that would enable them to pick up yet another prospect.

The Boston Celtics will be getting their next franchise player in Jimmy Butler. Picking up Butler will add the star power Danny Ainge has been looking for. Boston is looking for the missing piece to help them ascend to the next level. The Celtics will be getting one of the best two way players in the National Basketball Association. Butler can defend multiple positions, get to the line, and can help make everyone around him better.

Danny Ainge believes that the Boston Celtics need more offensive consistency to become a legitimate title contender. That being said, Jimmy Butler is averaging a career highs in points and assists this year. Bringing in Butler will give Boston the offensive boost they need. The Celtics players have bought into Brad Stevens’ vision for the team. Playing great defense and giving 100 percent effort each and every game. Stevens is also getting everything he can from his team without a superstar. He’s getting his team to play San Antonio Spurs-like basketball.

Things didn’t turn out like how the Chicago Bulls wanted in Fred Hoiberg’s first NBA season. The Bulls roster next season might not look the same after this summer with Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah looking for new homes through free agency. Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics have been looking for a player who can help them compete for an NBA Championship. Jimmy Butler might be the guy who can help them get to the next level. For this trade to work, the Celtics will have to give up at least two first round picks, one of which might be the first overall pick this summer.
