‘Jerk-Off Fans’ Try To ‘Screw Up Telecast,’ Says Warriors-Spurs Game Analyst [Video]

It was a pretty normal game when the San Antonio Spurs went up against the Golden State Warriors, with talk about how Draymond Green, number 23, was playing a pretty physical game. In fact, in the above photo, referee Monty McCutchen can be seen calling a foul on the forward, Green, during the first half of the NBA basketball game on Sunday, April 10, in San Antonio. However, when the game analysts tried to talk about that physical type of play, they were interrupted by fans who were deemed “jerk-off fans,” as seen in the following video.

Body punches aren’t for the faint of heart, begins the sports talk in the video, with talk of how the Warriors have to do a little bit better, and get to the open court in order to get their free flowing offense going. It’s that type of game play that needs to be adopted by the Golden State Warriors in order to beat the Spurs.

However, as fans waved their hands and other objects in front of the cameras, the sportcasters initially tried to ignore the melee, but eventually commented on the “jerk-off fans” messing up the broadcast.

“That’s what necessary to beat the Spurs.

“This is just the way Draymond Green loves to play.

“Jerk-off fans are trying to screw up a telecast.”

Before long, Twitter came alive with responses to the “jerk-off fans” comment, with some joking that they should create T-shirts calling themselves “jerk-off fans” on the front of the shirts.

Most folks are expressing their surprise, since they say they haven’t heard a broadcaster say something like “jerk-off fans” before during a sports broadcast.

The below photo shows the white object that was waved in front of the camera, which prompted the “jerk-off fans” comment, and shows a hashtag written on the white object.

Others on social media are encouraging the “jerk-off fans” to stand up and make a bunch of noise in San Antonio.

As seen in the below photo, a person’s hand is seen in front of the broadcast camera.

More “jerk-off fans” are being encouraged to act up as a result of the offhand comment.

While some are joking about the “jerk-off fans” comment, others are angered and are already calling for firings to happen.

Others are using the “jerk-off fans” as a mantra.

Some weren’t bothered by the “jerk-off fans” comment at all.

Either way, the constant stream of tweets mentioning the “jerk-off fans” comment prove that it’s a phrase that caught the ears of those watching the game. So much so that some viewers said they had to rewind to make sure they heard the “jerk-off fans” comment correctly.

Certain folks tweeting about the “jerk-off fans” comment write that they believe it wasn’t that bad of a thing to say — and that there are a lot worse things that a sports announcer could call fans, other than “jerk-off fans.”

With the video of the “jerk-off fans” comment already on YouTube and gaining views, this is likely one observation that won’t go anywhere anytime soon. Whether the guy who made the comment will issue a mea culpa before the game is over remains to be seen. Since the comment was made after the broadcast camera had cut away from the two broadcasters, it was difficult to ascertain which person made the comment — since viewers couldn’t see the actual words “jerk-off fans” coming out of the sports announcer’s mouth on camera.

According to the Score, the the jerk-off fans comment was made by Bob Fitzgerald.
