Kaitlyn Bristowe And Shawn Booth Split? Former ‘Bachelorette’ Star Shares Relationship Update
Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth will celebrate their one-year engagement anniversary next month, but there is speculation that they will announce their breakup instead.
The couple continues to dodge the “when’s the wedding?” question, and Shawn recently told a curious fan that they are taking it slow, but it’s their actions over the past week or so that really have Bachelor Nation wondering if they’ve called it quits.
What does Kaitlyn have to say about their relationship? Here’s the latest buzz about the “Boothstowes,” along with Kaitlyn’s comments about her relationship with Shawn.
Fans who follow both Kaitlyn and Shawn on their individual Snapchat accounts know that they have not been together for more than a week. Kaitlyn has been partying with her friends in Arizona while Shawn has been busy visiting his family and shooting videos for his fitness business.
Shortly after the Bachelorette season finale aired in July, 2015, blogger Reality Steve stated that Kaitlyn and Shawn would not last more than six months. The proposal was filmed in May, so that means they’ve made it almost five months longer than Steve predicted. However, one former contestant on Kaitlyn’s season thinks their relationship is not the real deal and they will never get married.
According to In Touch, JJ Lane, who also appeared on Bachelor in Paradise Season 2, told the magazine that Kaitlyn and Shawn are “in a business relationship” and their relationship is “a sham.”
“Kaitlyn and Shawn’s relationship is a sham,” Lane told In Touch last month. “They have a business relationship. Shawn is only sticking with her for the money.”
During her appearance at TedxVancouver last February, Kaitlyn revealed that she took the gig as the Bachelorette last year to build her brand, not to find love. However, she claims that she did fall in love with Shawn in the process and that was more than she expected.
The couple is apparently raking in millions from endorsements and paid appearances, so if they are staying together for money, they are certainly making bank. And let’s not forget the pricey ring Kaitlyn has on her finger. Yahoo estimates that the Neil Lane diamond engagement ring is worth $75,000 — it’s hers to keep if they stay together (engaged or married) until May, 2017.
In addition to the ring, WetPaint states that Shawn and Kaitlyn are worth an estimated $3 million, and for each product they promote on social media, it’s possible they are raking in as much as $15,000 per post in and a cool $500,000 for being a brand spokesperson.
So, are they together for love or money — and is a breakup really on the horizon for the former Bachelorette and her fiancé?
Last week, Kaitlyn posted a picture on Snapchat of a Life & Style magazine article that points to her relationship with Shawn being in trouble. Although she didn’t come out and say that they are doing great and have no intentions of breaking up, she did mention the photo used in the article.
The picture shows the couple looking in opposite directions, and they do not look happy. However, Kaitlyn called the magazine out for posting a picture that was taken in an airport in Vancouver nine months ago in the wee hours of the morning.
“Sure, use a pic from 3 a.m. when we lost our luggage in Vancouver 9 months ago,” Kaitlyn captioned the Snapchat photo.
Although Kaitlyn is still in Arizona and Shawn is currently visiting his family, they do share a home together in Nashville. All eyes will be on their Snapchat and Instagram account to see if they return to life as usual after a brief break.
