Spectator Yelled At Aly Raisman’s Parents, Told Them To Sit Down And Stop Cheering [Video]

Aly Raisman‘s parents celebrating her individual gold medal were not as hilarious to the man behind them as they were to every one else. In fact, the angry spectator shooed Raisman’s dad, reportedly telling him to sit down and stop cheering for his daughter, who had just won gold in the floor exercise on Tuesday.

The angry older gentleman at the Greenwich Arena sitting behind the Raismans was seen staring at Aly’s father, Rick, shaking his head in disgust. Later on, he shouted at the excited parents to sit down, reports Yahoo! Sports.

While it is understandable to be annoyed with someone jumping up and down in front of you while you’re trying to watch the competition, it’s very likely that the upset fan knew who the couple in front of him was, considering all of the video footage of them jumping up and down in celebration for their daughter’s performances.

While Yahoo’s Chris Chase believes that Raisman’s parents could have been more considerate to the people around them, they likely couldn’t contain their elation that their 17-year-old daughter had just won her second gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics — her second individual medal.

The Hollywood Gossip’s Free Britney writes of the incident that:

“Anyone who’s ever sat behind some guy who stands and yells at inopportune moments can sympathize here … but in this particular case, come on. First of all, the old man had to have known who they were – Aly Raisman’s dad in particular does not shy away from making his presence felt. Second … what’s that guy trying so hard to see? He’s seen above telling Rick to sit down AFTER ALY’S ROUTINE. That’s just going out of your way to be a jerk.”
