Demi Lovato Takes A Tumble In Front Of Thousands At WE Day Concert

Demi Lovato took a bit of a tumble on Thursday night during her performance at the WE Day event. The singer was in the middle of her performance for the star-studded concert when she lost her footing and nearly took a fall right off the stage. Because Demi Lovato is quite the professional, it turned out she was able to regain her footing shortly after she tripped and in true professional fashion, went right on with her song, finishing her set.

The slip took place while she was first stepping onto what was apparently a very slippery stage and in a video posted of the situation, you can see Demi Lovato starts to stumble almost immediately. Students who were there to watch Lovato perform clearly realized something was wrong right away as you can see a number of them shoot out their hands in an attempt to catch her should she continue falling towards the edge of the stage. Demi Lovato was eventually able to catch herself and a more serious injury was likely avoided.

Hollywood Life reports the culprit for Demi Lovato’s fall was likely her shiny, black, high heels she was wearing on the slippery stage. The website also reports that there are audible gasps as the singer starts to go down, the audience likely wondering what was going on. After hitting the ground Demi popped right back up and yelled “I’m okay!” after she made sure she had gotten herself righted, Lovato thrust her arms into the air as further evidence that she was indeed feeling perfectly fine.

Once she was able to get back on her feet, she was helped offstage by WE Day event personnel, likely to make sure she really wasn’t hurt. After the fans began chanting Demi Lovato’s name, the performer realized it was time to make another appearance and she came back with a big smile on her face. Demi then went on to begin talking about the thing she was there for in the first place, including another very special guest in soccer player Reilly Fox.

Perhaps it’s because the event was for a cause that Demi Lovato truly believes in, but she didn’t seem to take her fall as anything other than a small blip in the road. For those who don’t know, WE Day California is billed as a day in which people celebrate youth. Lovato was performing in front of more than 16,000 students who are all looking to change their community in the short run, and the world in general in the long run. Volunteers from all over the country and in different parts of the world have lent their time and attention to various causes supported by the organization behind the event.

Demi was making an appearance at one of the last WE Day events of the current cycle. These events had already taken place in several spots in the U.K. and Canada. The California performance was the first in the United States for this cycle since November of last year. After Demi Lovato’s appearance at the California concert, the events are set to move to Seattle on April 20, and then Illinois at the end of this month. Events like WE Day rarely go off without a hitch, but Demi Lovato showed she was a real trooper with the way she handled her stumble in front of thousands of her fans.
