Bethenny Frankel’s Mystery Illness Revealed? Get An Update On Her ‘RHONY’ Divorce

Bethenny Frankel was dealing with a mystery illness during filming on the eighth season of The Real Housewives of New York City, and at the same time, she was attempting to finalize her long-overdue divorce from husband Jason Hoppy.

For the last few years, Bethenny Frankel has been feuding over custody and finances with her former partner, and while the two came to an agreement for their daughter, Bryn, 5, a while back, they are still at odds over their finances and their divorce has yet to be complete. Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel has been plagued with an illness that she will chronicle on The Real Housewives of New York City.

“I’m facing a women’s health issue that many women can relate to,” Bethenny Frankel revealed to Entertainment Tonight Online on March 4. “I’m dealing with it head on, and viewers will understand how I personally deal with matters such as this. I hope women can relate, learn and support each other in life moments like this.”

Bethenny Frankel appeared on the first three seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City before moving on from the series to a spinoff of her own. The special, Bethenny Getting Married, featured an inside life at her personal life at home with Hoppy and their daughter as well as a look at her professional life and the creation of Skinnygirl. After being renamed Bethenny Ever After following Frankel and Hoppy’s wedding, the series aired for two additional seasons before Bethenny Frankel chose to explore other projects, including her short-lived talk show, Bethenny.

While Bethenny Frankel hasn’t said what, exactly, she’s dealing with when it comes to her health, she recently confirmed she had not been faced with a cancer diagnosis.

“I don’t have cancer. I don’t even like that that word is sort of out there,” Bethenny Frankel explained during an interview with Entertainment Tonight Online on April 4. “I have a couple of different female issues going on at the same time that have created kind of the perfect storm, so I am dealing with it.”

As for what the illness has been reported as, a source told In Touch Weekly on March 28 that Bethenny Frankel recently underwent a procedure to have fibroids removed.

“[Bethenny Frankel] had to have fibroids removed because of concern it wasn’t taken out, she would develop cancer,” a source told the magazine. “The surgery was supposed to be very easy, but Bethenny did suffer from excessive bleeding afterward. It was a scary time for [Bethenny Frankel] and made her realize there was no close family in her life to help with the recovery.”

Regarding her ongoing divorce, Bethenny Frankel recently spoke out about her impending split during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen. As Us Weekly revealed on April 7, Bethenny Frankel told Cohen that she and Hoppy were at the 18th hole of their divorce. Bethenny Frankel also mentioned that she had no idea splitting from Hoppy would have turned out to be so dramatic.

“If I’m gonna get divorced, I’m gonna have the longest and best and most expensive divorce. It’s like a purse,” Bethenny Frankel joked.
