Adam Levine And Miley Cyrus Butt Heads On ‘The Voice,’ Maroon 5 Frontman Furious She Was Cast For Season 11

The Voice is getting ready for some major changes in the new season, and not all the judges are happy about it. With Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams taking the next season off, producers are bringing in Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys as replacements in Season 11. Although Blake Shelton has adjusted nicely to the newcomers, Adam Levine has not taken the news kindly, especially in regards to Cyrus.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Cyrus was hired in order to attract a younger audience to the show. While many thought that Cyrus would have little trouble fitting in, especially with Levine, the opposite has occurred. Not only are the two not getting along behind-the-scenes, but they also just can’t stand being around each other.

“They both have short attention spans. They find each other annoying. Adam would get agitated when Miley would interrupt him, and she enjoyed getting under his skin,” a source explained to Us Magazine.

This season marks the first time Cyrus has appeared as a judge on the series. For his part, Levine has been a judge for a number of years on the show and has seen his fellow judges come and go. So far, Levine has generally gotten along well with his co-stars, except for his playful bickering with Shelton.

While the reports of a feud have yet to be confirmed, it is not all that surprising that Levine and Cyrus are having difficulties. According to E! Online, there are a number of reasons why the two stars can’t get on the same page.

For starters, Levine doesn’t always come across as the friendliest person alive. His fake fighting and cutting comments towards Shelton are an example of his sometimes abrasive personality. Of course, Levine has yet to allow his off-screen issues with co-stars get in the way of his work on the show.

At the same time, the Maroon 5 frontman’s confidence is probably also at play in his feud with Cyrus. After all, both Levine and Cyrus are very opinionated individuals who are extremely confident in themselves. With that in mind, it’s only natural that the two would eventually get in an argument.

Lastly, Levine has been a judge on The Voice for a long time now, and he might view Miley Cyrus’ addition to the series as an invasion of his world. Additionally, Cyrus is the bigger star when compared to Levine, which might also be a factor at play here. Then again, Cyrus is not the first newcomer to grace the set while Levine has sat in a chair.

Whatever the truth behind their issues, it is clear that Levine and Cyrus are going to butt heads in the coming season. Whether or not their feud rears its head when the cameras are rolling is yet to be seen.

Surprisingly, Shelton has really gotten along well with Cyrus. Not only are the two finding common ground together, but Shelton is more than happy that she’s on the show. With the two veteran judges already taking sides, it looks like Shelton and Cyrus will be going up against Levine throughout the season.

Despite the conflicts with Levine, Cyrus is thrilled to be a part of the show. In fact, Cyrus took to Twitter shortly after the announcement to express her excitement.

“It’s true! I am going to be the newest judge on Season 11 of The Voice @NBCTheVoice #thevoice,” she wrote.

The current season of The Voice continues Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC. Fans can watch Cyrus in action when the new season of The Voice airs this coming fall.
