Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Help Samsung’s Profits Rise

Samsung was losing in profits for the past three years. However, the success of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are changing things. USA Today has the news.

“Samsung Electronics needed to make a splash with the Galaxy S7 smartphones that hit stores last month. Judging by the better-than-expected operating profit that the South Korean tech giant forecast Thursday for the January-to-March quarter, it has done just that.”

The article notes that even though Samsung didn’t disclose full earnings figures yet, it did preview operating profits that show a 10 percent rise. Analysts believe that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge play into almost 100 percent of the rising profits.

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and, especially, the S7 Edge have earned outstanding reviews. CNET, which barely gives products a perfect rating, gave the Galaxy S7 Edge five stars.

“Here’s the phone you should buy right now: This one. What catapults the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to such heights? Is it the excellent camera, the beast of a battery, the expandable storage or the seductive design that’s worth more than the sum of its parts? Yes, and more.”

Reviewer Jessica Dolcourt is especially impressed with the screen and battery life, which lasts even power users more than 24 hours. The only thing that she doesn’t seem to like is the price. However, judging by early sales, it’s obvious that consumers don’t have a problem shelling out hundreds of dollars for Samsung’s new masterpiece.

Techradar also gave the Galaxy S7 Edge five stars.

“The second you pick up the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, you know you’re holding a premium phone. Actually, that moment happens before you pick it up, as when you get close to it the always-on display will intrigue you, and the blended curve design will entice a little further,” claimed reviewer Gareth Beavis, who was especially blown away by the battery life and high-speed performance.

While the review received some criticism in the comments section, the people who actually owned the S7 Edge agreed.

“I have it, and it’s a lovely phone. The people who are saying it’s slow must be trolling,” claimed Red Man.

“I’ve had mine for a week or so now and its a great phone. I upgraded from the S5,” claimed Drunken Max.

Galaxy S7 Edge owners on Twitter are thrilled.

The S7 and S7 Edge have, unfortunately, caused some minor problems for users. Tech Times claims that one problem is an oversensitive touch screen.

“The screen is just too sensitive, causing users to accidentally open an app or select other elements of the interface. This issue isn’t entirely new for Samsung, as the Galaxy Note 5 also bore a similar problem in which the user’s fingers or thumb rest on the phablet’s edges, making other input unresponsive.”

Tech Times suggests that one should get a case that provides a better grip on the handset. However, that’s not the only problem, as several users have complained about trouble with Bluetooth connections, especially in certain cars.

According to Android Authority, a lot of users have complained about the Flipboard Briefing screen causing several problems, especially lag. However, the site says this can be fixed by pressing on the home screen and then swiping over to the Briefing home screen, where you will see a toggle to turn it off.

Luckily, the success of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has overshadowed any minor problems users have experienced. Thanks to their new smartphones, Samsung now has a one-way ticket back to relevancy.
