Ashley Darby Says Karen Huger’s Harsh Comments Don’t Bother Her

Ashley Darby has just wrapped her first season of The Real Housewives of Potomac and it sounds like the season finale wasn’t as positive as she may have hoped. Darby agreed to go to Gizelle Bryant’s lunch to settle any issues that were present between herself and the ladies, but it sounds like Darby wasn’t eager to admit any wrongdoings. She didn’t think she had done anything wrong, and fans agree with her. But Karen Huger was clearly angry about everything that had happened and she had some words for Darby.

According to a new Bravo report, Ashley Darby is now revealing that she knew that the lunch would be crazy, but she decided to go anyways. But she was surprised that Karen had been planning her attack, and it seemed completely rude that she wanted Ashley and Michael to procreate.

“I knew that the lunch was going to be a session of ridiculousness. The only reason I agreed to come was because Karen and I needed to clear the air, once and for all. She had previously avoided me at Charrisse’s party but now there was no place to run. Just as I suspected, the dried up women of Potomac showed out. I wasn’t the least bit surprised to hear the trash talking behind my back — everyone seemed to be kowtowing to the Grand Dame so they all fell in line. The pettiness in people intensifies when they get into groups — just look at any dictator,” Ashley Darby explains, sharing that she had a feeling that Karen had been working on her answer.

For a few episodes, Huger had been sharing her frustrations with Ashley. She had been very vocal about how she didn’t think Darby fit into the circle and she wasn’t too open and honest about her feelings. All of a sudden, Huger just flipped out on Ashley, sharing that she did not want her daughter around Ashley at all. So when the two met up for this final lunch, it sounds like Ashley knew that Karen had plenty of things to say.

“It was clear that Karen had been carefully crafting her ‘take down’ for days. She was embarrassed about being called out on her ludicrousness, so she was ready to claw at my jugular. When you back a cougar into a corner they will always try to strike a defensive blow. What came from that was a crass and disgusting comment that shows just how uncouth Karen can actually be. Because the discussion was way over her head, she had to say the nastiest sexual comment she could think of. But it’s no matter — I will continue getting my swerve on with my husband, procreating or not,” Ashley Darby reveals in her blog.

Of course, Karen has used every small opportunity to make her point about Darby. When Michael showed up at his own beach house during a girls weekend, she made a huge scene about him possibly seeing her in skimpy outfits. And her husband wasn’t happy about it, either. But Ashley thought she was contradictory because Huger would wear revealing outfits during her confessional interviews for The Real Housewives of Potomac. These two may duke it out at the reunion, but it is fun to see Ashley Darby defending herself, because she doesn’t bow down to suit Karen. She’s not that desperate to fit into the Potomac social circle if she can’t be herself. And that is admirable, and many fans adore her for that.
