Melania Trump Steps Up To Plate, Claiming Hubby Ready To Fight ‘For You And For Our Country’

Melania Trump is taking her turn at bat on behalf of her husband whose run for president has come across a bump in winning women voters. Donald Trump’s dominance in the Republican race marked by his boisterous, unscripted style, took a hit from the Quinnipiac poll on March 23, reporting 67 percent of the women interviewed expressing an unfavorable view of him.

Prior to his Tuesday loss to Senator Ted Cruz in Wisconsin, Donald Trump, 69, was joined by his wife onstage at the Milwaukee Theater on Monday night where she made a speech on his behalf. According to The New York Times, Melania Trump, 45, spoke just over a minute, reading from notes to address a subdued crowd of less than capacity. Of his abrasive campaign style, she said the following.

“No matter who you are, a man or a woman, he treats everyone equal. As you may know by now, when you attack him he will punch back 10 times harder. He’s a fighter, and if you elect him to be our president, he will fight for you and for our country.”

Melania Trump pointed out her husband’s qualifications as “a great communicator,” “a great negotiator” and “a great leader,” making him president material. With candidate spouses historically used as character witnesses, it was homebody Melania’s time to step out of her parlor and do her part.

Though she initially did not want her husband to join the G.O.P. race, Melania Trump was forced to enter the fray by a pro-Senator Ted Cruz “super P.A.C.” ad in Utah, featuring old nude photos of her that cast her husband in a negative light for Mormon voters.

The real estate billionaire’s peevish response reportedly factored into the super P.A.C.’s calculations to trap him, was to post a fine shot of Melania Trump beside a poorly done image of Heidi Cruz.

Already in hot water from his clashes with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and G.O.P. race dropout Carly Fiorina, the harried presidential aspirant faced more fodder to claims that he is a misogynist. It is another instance whereby he turns to womenfolk in his family for female input, mostly from Melania and daughter Ivanka, both reportedly harping on the Trump patriarch to be “more presidential.”

While daughter Ivanka and current wife Melania have been openly supportive of Donald Trump, his first wife and mother of his three oldest children, Ivana, gives him good press. In an interview with The New York Post on Sunday, April 3, she wished Melania “all the best” and reiterated that her ex-husband “loves women.”

According to U.S.A. Today, Melania and Donald Trump sat with Fox News’ Sean Hannity for a one-hour interview on April 4 wherein she mentioned disruptions to the family routine for a worthwhile cause. While deploring the Republican mud-slinging, especially the attacks on family, she spoke of developing a “thick skin” and other sacrifices.

“He’s not home much and with me or with my son so it’s changed. But I know what he could do for America so…”

A report by People depicted a Donald Trump all enthused by his wife joining him on the campaign trail. He had this to say of Melania Trump at a rally in Racine, Wisconsin, on April 2.

“She’s going to campaign. She’s never done this before. So that will be exciting, Melania is coming up.”

Huffington Post shows Melania a long way from being the 17-year-old Melanija Knavs choosing a model’s life that would take her to Milan and the United States, where she would meet Donald Trump at a 1998 party in New York. As the billionaire’s third wife, she can reflect back on her roots in Slovenia, a tiny former Yugoslav republic of 2 million people in the shadow of the Julian Alps between Italy, Croatia, Austria, and Hungary.

Melania reportedly grew up on the banks of the River Sava, where her father sold car parts and her mother worked for a children’s clothing factory. It all has the makings of a Cinderella story with Donald Trump as her Prince Charming.
