Palin Banks Feud Coming To An End? Azealia Apologizes For Profanity-Laden Tweets Against Sarah

Sarah Palin and Azealia Banks are the latest two celebrities to find themselves tied up in a Twitter feud, although this one may be [mercifully] coming to an end, now that Banks has apologized.

As MSN reports, the Palin–Banks feud began with an article on the satirical news site Newslo.com. Being a satire site, Newslo, like The Onion, publishes stories that aren’t true and are meant for laughs. This particular article, entitled “Palin: Even The French Understand That Slavery Wasn’t Our Fault, Because The Negroes Liked It,” satirically said that Sarah Palin believed slaves liked being slaves.

“Negroes loved being slaves and they were doing just fine under our rules.”

Azealia Banks was apparently not in on the joke.

In a series of tweets that have since been deleted, Banks — who has publicly supported slavery reparations for African-Americans — laid into the former Republican vice presidential candidate. Those tweets reference Banks’ desire to see Palin gang-raped by a group of black men, contain offensive language, and won’t be printed in this post. Breitbart has collected screenshots of Banks’ tweets, and you can see them here, but be warned: the tweets are vulgar and contain offensive language.

By Tuesday, Palin had had enough.

In a lengthy post on her official Facebook page, Palin called out Banks for her offensive language, as well as falling for a hoax.

“Hey Female Rapper — listen up, little darling. No one has any idea what you’re wigging out about in these bizarre, violent rants against me, but you’re obviously not exercising enough intelligence to acknowledge you’ve been sucked into believing some fake interview in which I supposedly offered comments representing the antithesis of my truth.”

Palin then encouraged Banks to use her status as a female public figure to affect positive change in society, and promised to go through her daughter’s playlist to make sure there’s no Azealia Banks “anti-woman, pro-rape garbage” on it.

On Tuesday, Banks apologized. Sort of.

In an open letter on her Tumblr account, Banks belittled Palin’s intelligence, suggested that believing slavery was a good thing wouldn’t necessarily be out of character for Palin, and intimated that she (Banks) has absolutely no idea what it is about Sarah Palin that people find appealing.

Then she gave what is likely the most Palin can expect in terms of an apology.

“Woman to Woman, I hope you will accept my sincerest apology.”

Banks then followed her “apology” with a few more digs at Palin, concluding with this gem directed at Palin’s daughter.

“If Bristol Palin listened to my music she probably wouldn’t have all those [darned] kids!!!!”

Banks’ apology notwithstanding, according to Fox News, Palin is threatening to sue Banks.

“For the first time I’m going to enjoy the only retribution some protected ‘celebrities’ seem to understand — I’m suing Azealia Banks and can’t wait to share my winnings with others who have gone defenseless against lies and dangerous attacks far too long.”

Banks’ public Twitter beef with Sarah Palin is the latest in a series of controversies involving the sometimes-volatile New York Rapper. Last fall, also on Twitter, Banks accused gay men of being “like the KKK,” in a tweet that has since been deleted. Then in September she was caught having a fit on a Delta Airlines flight. (The video posted below contains strong language.)

For her part, Sarah Palin isn’t exactly having the best year, either. In January, her son, Track, was arrested following a domestic violence incident against his girlfriend, and in March, her husband, Todd, was seriously injured in a snowmobile accident.

Do you think Sarah Palin should follow through with her threat to sue Azealia Banks?
