Rob Kardashian And Blac Chyna Engaged, Shunned By Kardashian ‘Klan’

Well, it’s official: Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna are getting married. As many people across social media reacted to the unlikely union, there were a few individuals whose public opinions on the matter were noticeably absent: The Kardashian-Jenners.

Within the same time frame that Chyna announced to the world via Instagram that she happily accepted Rob’s marriage proposal, Entertainment Tonight reports the rest of the Kardashian “klan” was whisked away to Vail, Colorado, by matriarch Kris Jenner.

Did Kris knowingly snub her son Rob by taking the entire family out-of-town ahead of his engagement plans? Apparently not. TMZ claims that rest of the Kardashians had no idea that he intended to pop the question. That would mean they also didn’t know about the $325,000 he reportedly spent on the ring.

TMZ alleged via an anonymous source, “Rob timed the proposal to go down when the family was away.”

TMZ also said the Kardashian women view the “whole thing as ‘flaky'” and that’s why they refused to immediately offer congratulations to Rob or Blac Chyna.

While they may think silence is golden, that hasn’t stopped others from reacting to their lack of support — and possible hypocrisy.

It’s important to note that the Kardashians have been quick to congratulate the questionable relationship decisions of its family members through the years.

For instance, the decision of Kim Kardashian to marry basketball player Kris Humphries — and Kim’s decision to pursue a long-term relationship with rap artist Kanye West within weeks of getting married. In fact, Kardashian was married to Humphries for less than three months before opting to move on to bigger and better things.

Through all of this, it would be incredibly hard to argue that she lacked family support.

And then we have the curious case of Kylie Jenner, Kim’s youngest sister who seems to be consciously transforming herself into a younger version of Kim. Others claim she’s even modeling herself after Blac Chyna.

Kylie made headlines when she seemingly “broke up” the happy home of rapper Tyga and Chyna, who have a son together named King. Many point out that Kylie was a minor when she and Tyga began to get cozy. Some have even accused the rapper of being sexually involved with Jenner while she was still underage.

Be that as it may, the Kardashian-Jenner clan stood behind Kylie Jenner and Tyga and were vocal in their support of the couple despite the rather questionable nature of how the relationship began.

Now the tables have seemingly turned, with Blac Chyna ending up with Rob Kardashian, who, as the only male, will be the only person to pass the profitable Kardashian name on to the next generation. That’s something that gleeful social media observers have been quick to point out.

Is that the real reasons the Kardashian ladies have yet to offer their congratulations?

After all, it’s easy to argue that through their various actions and antics, the Kardashian women have spent lots of time building their brand, and that brand is firmly attached to a name that “momager” Kris Jenner married into rather than was being born into.

Her daughters can opt to keep the Kardashian name after being married, which married daughters Khloe and Kim have in some way, but their offspring will not bear the Kardashian surname.

Such is the case with Saint and North West.

Blac Chyna, who Us Weekly claims will go by Angela Kardashian, will not only marry the Kardashian name, she, and not former rival Kylie Jenner, will be the one who has children that will bear the famous last name.

Even if the women are privately steamed, they certainly aren’t showing it publicly. Kris Jenner proudly posted images from daughter Kylie’s Paper photo shoot to Instagram, and Kim Kardashian has also shared non-Rob Kardashian news on her Twitter account.

As public pressure mounts and the reality of the engagement takes hold, the Kardashian women will be forced to speak out sooner or later. At least, if they want invitations to the wedding.
