Season Finales: What To Look Forward To On ABC


As is the tradition, ABC has planned a number of highlights for this year’s May sweeps, including special guest stars, gimmicks, and what-not. Today, the network also announced the season finale dates for many of its shows as well:

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22.

America’s Funniest Home Videos: The show has faced some pushback when Alfonso Ribeiro took over hosting duties from Tom Bergeron this year, but the former host will make an appearance during the show’s season finale on Sunday, May 22, when the grand prize winner of the trip to Shanghai Disney Resort is announced. Other special guests include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck.

Castle: The season finale airs on Monday, May 16.

Dancing with the Stars: The show will award the coveted Mirrorball trophy during the two-night season finale on Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24.

Fresh Off the Boat: The show shares its season finale with Ken Jeong on Tuesday, May 24.

General Hospital: The soap will air its annual “Nurses Ball” from Tuesday, May 24 to Thursday, May 26.

Grey’s Anatomy: Season 12 ends on Thursday, May 19.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: SHIELD takes on Hive during the show’s two-hour season finale on Tuesday, May 17.

Modern Family: Shelley Long and Simon Templeman guest star on “Crazy Train” on Wednesday, May 11. The show’s season finale airs on Wednesday, May 18.

Nashville: Country singer Kelsea Ballerini, Extra host Mario Lopez, and Charissa Thompson all guest star as themselves on Wednesday, May 4. Former Dancing with the Stars dancer Derek Hough and Kesha will guest star on Wednesday, May 11. Sir Elton John guest stars along with the women of The View, Whoopie Goldberg, Joy Behar, Raven Symone, and Paula Faris on Wednesday, May 18. The season wraps up with Deborah Roberts on Wednesday, May 25.

Once Upon A Time: Greg Germann is having a ball playing Hades on this season and will continue his mayhem through the two-hour season finale on Sunday, May 15.

Quantico: The show finishes its season finale with the graduation of NATS on Sunday, May 15.

Scandal: Artemis Pebdani and Gregg Henry will guest star for “Buckle Up” on Thursday, April 28. The season finale is May 12.

Shark Tank: Special guest “shark” will be Silicon Valley billionaire Chris Sacca on Friday, April 29. The season finale is May 20.

The Bachelorette: While many shows are ending, it is time for another season of The Bachelorette to begin with fan favorite JoJo Fletcher. The debut airs on Monday, May 23.

The Catch: Will Shonda Rhimes’ latest effort, The Catch, continue on? Time will tell, but the inaugural season finishes up with a two-hour episode on Thursday, May 19.

The Chew: The daytime show will celebrate its 1,000th show on Thursday, May 5.

The Family: The twisted mystery story of the seemingly perfect family whose lives got turned upside down when their abducted son returns home after going missing for 10 years continues to churn out episodes until the season finale on Sunday, May 15, where the show will more than likely throw in a new plot twist to keep it going for another year.

The Goldbergs: Judd Hirsch guest stars as Murray’s father on “Smother’s Day” Wednesday, May 4. The show’s season finale is Wednesday, May 18.

The Middle: Appropriately named “The Show Must Go On,” the episode will have Brick graduate from middle school, Sue gets a job at Dollywood, and Axl becomes a country club counselor during the season finale on Wednesday, May 18.

The Real O’Neals: Tim Gunn guest stars as himself for “The Real Other Woman” on Tuesday, May 10. Kenny struggles, wondering which guy he should ask to be his date at the school prom during the season finale on Tuesday, May 24.
