Is Jon Snow Really Dead? Watch Kit Harington Take A Lie Detector Test

According to Jon Snow himself, the character is dead for good, and just to make sure, TV host Jonathan Ross had Kit Harington take a lie detector test last night. Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on HBO’s Game of Thrones, took to The Jonathan Ross Show to promote Game of Thrones when he was pressed on the status of his popular character. The big question: Is he alive or dead?

Fans of the book series on which HBO’s Game of Thrones is based have speculated for years about the death of Jon Snow, with most theories concluding that Jon Snow will make a comeback in some form or another – maybe as a white walker or as something of a revenant like Game of Thrones’ Lord Beric Dondarrion, who was returned to life several times by Red Priest Thoros of Myr.

But last night on The Jonathan Ross Show, Kit Harington tried to put all the Jon Snow rumors to bed by agreeing to something of a lie detector test about Jon Snow’s demise. Host Jonathan Ross presented Harington with a large faux stone device, called Stone of Truth, in which Jon Snow himself placed his hand. The device reportedly gave Harington a shock any time he lied or if Jonathan Ross simply didn’t like his answer. Jon Snow actor Kit Harington didn’t crack despite being shocked numerous times by the device.

“Is Jon Snow dead?” host Jonathan Ross asked while Kit Harington gripped the electrocution device.

Kit Harington has been claiming that Jon Snow is dead, really dead, 100 percent dead, for weeks now ahead of the Game of Thrones premiere, but fans still don’t believe him, as the Inquisitr has reported previously. Despite last night’s shocking performance on The Jonathan Ross Show, it’s pretty clear that fans won’t believe Harington until they see Jon Snow dead for good in this season of Game of Thrones.

“I was playing a corpse. I was there for a little bit, I was there for about a month or two months, it was spread over a bit and I was playing a corpse,” said Jon Snow’s Kit Harington last night after enduring several rounds of impromptu electro-shock therapy from host Jonathan Ross.

The late night host didn’t let up there, though. Jonathan Ross pressed Kit Harington on Jon Snow’s death while trying to find a crack in Harington’s story, asking how many episodes he was in this season, how long he was on set, and whether or not Jon Snow stays dead but becomes something other than human: a white walker.

“I won’t tell you how many episodes [Jon Snow] is lying dead, but it’s enough that I was out there for quite a while. It’s going to be so satisfying when you see it and you realize I was telling the truth the whole time,” said Kit Harington last night, still fighting the rumors that Jon Snow’s death is just another of the popular HBO drama’s twists and turns.

Inverse reports that Kit Harington was spotted on set as Jon Snow while Game of Thrones was filming, wearing a costume other than his Night’s Watch attire, suggesting that Jon Snow doesn’t die and that he might find himself in a warmer locale. Additionally, Harington hasn’t cut his Jon Snow hair or beard, as he has in the past after filming a season of Game of Thrones. Inverse suggests that these little details are inconsistent with Harington’s claim that Jon Snow, arguably the hero of the Game of Thrones series, is dead for good.

USA Today reports that Harington was on set for a couple months, although it’s unclear why he would need to be on set for so long if his character Jon Snow was as dead as he claims. Maybe Jon Snow’s corpse is just a part of the décor at Castle Black now?
