Christina Aguilera Fired? ‘The Voice’ Rumors Swirl After Alleged Gwen Stefani Feud

Christina Aguilera will not return to The Voice for Season 11. Ever since the announcement was made official, rumors have suggested the “Genie in a Bottle” singer’s alleged feud with Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton may be to blame.

In a recent report, it was alleged that Christina Aguilera’s feud with her co-stars had gotten so ugly that she had actually enlisted Miranda Lambert, the ex-wife of Shelton, to help her get back at them.

“[Christina Aguilera’s] feud with Stefani is very much visible on The Voice,” Mstars News revealed to readers on April 2. “Reportedly, [Christina Aguilera] is not happy that Stefani has returned to the show and even thinks that she does not have enough talent to guide the new generation of singers. However, there are many awkward instances between Shelton and Lambert, and Aguilera is using this to her advantage.”

Christina Aguilera’s exit from The Voice was first announced at the end of last month, and at the same time, her replacements were confirmed. However, while Christina Aguilera had been alternating coaching roles every other season with Stefani, it wasn’t Stefani who was named as her replacement as many expected. Instead, NBC chose to bring both Miley Cyrus, who served as Christina Aguilera’s mentor during The Voice Season 10, and Alicia Keys to the series.

Joining Cyrus and Keys for season 11 will be returning male judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, which makes season 11 the first installment of The Voice in which two women will compete against two men. In the past, only one woman has been featured on the panel per season.

Prior to Christina Aguilera’s exit announcement, it was reported by OK! Magazine that the reality star had threatened to quit the series due to the ongoing attention co-stars Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were receiving because of their romance. Around the same time, a report claimed Stefani and Shelton had received a raise for showcasing their relationship on The Voice.

“Blake and Gwen are getting an interesting offer from the show’s execs,” a source told Radar Online in March. “Producers want the two of them to give fans a full-on love-fest this season when she is a mentor on Team Blake, and they are going to throw in huge bonuses for exclusives, such as on-air duets, engagements, etc.”

“[Christina Aguilera] is furious!” the source said in response to the claim. “Christina wants Gwen out of the picture and is already throwing mini-tantrums about it… She said that Gwen is ‘not vocally talented’ and would not be on the show at all anymore if it was not for her relationship with Blake.”

In addition to rumors of Christina Aguilera threatening to leave the show, there have also been reports that she may have been fired due to her ongoing tension with Stefani and Shelton. Last week, Celeb Dirty Laundry claimed Christina Aguilera may have gotten the boot.

Although Christina Aguilera’s alleged firing from The Voice is nothing more than a rumor at this point, one thing is for sure: She will not be featured as a judge during Season 11, and at this point, it is unclear when she will return to the show — if at all.
