Carrie Underwood Dominates Stage Singing ‘Church Bells’ At 2016 ACM Awards, Country Superstar Marches To The Beat Of Her Own Drum

It was one hot night at the 2016 ACM Awards on Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The biggest names in country music came out to celebrate their achievements this past year. Carrie Underwood was one of them, and she may have just been the highlight of the night. She performed her newest single, “Church Bells,” from her Storyteller album, and she rocked it as always.

Underwood came out in a short one-arm-baring metallic dress and gladiator-style heels, as reported by Billboard, looking like she was ready to rumble with whoever got in her way. She dominated the stage as she belted out the song in her usual fashion. Her vocals were as strong as ever. The backdrop for “Church Bells” consisted of a gothic-looking set and included a couple of huge drums just waiting to be used, and the 33-year-old singer sure did.

Taking the drumsticks in hand, Carrie Underwood showed another talent that she has. She gave the world a little taste of what she can do with a couple of wooden sticks as she beat on those drums with her own unique rhythm. That drum solo might have surprised everyone. Even though she didn’t grab the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, she may have won for one of the best performances of the night.

Before she came out to perform, Underwood walked the red carpet in a gorgeous glittering gold Davidson Zanine gown. The outfit was sheer in just the right places, which flattered her slim after-baby figure. She just recently got her “mommy hair cut,” and she wore the shorter style with one side tucked behind her ear.

Never one to go overboard on wearing jewelry to these glamorous events, Carrie Underwood kept it simple, with teardrop earrings and a couple of rings, with one of them being her wedding ring.

Underwood’s hunky husband, Mike Fisher, was not walking the red carpet with his famous wife this year. He chose to stay home with their 13-month-old son, Isaiah. But you can be sure that the hockey player let the adorable baby watch his mommy on TV. According to ET Online, Carrie Underwood took along her mom, sister, and aunt to the ACM Awards for a fun girl’s night out.

The “Heartbeat” singer is currently in the middle of her Storyteller tour and she is loving every minute of it, especially since she gets to spend her off-stage time with one of her favorite guys. Isaiah is traveling around with Underwood, and she told ET that he is doing quite well with being on the road with her.

“He’s rolling with it. It’s a learning experience for all of us. We’re making up the rules and figuring things out as we go along, [but] it’s good.”

Carrie and Isaiah just recently attended one of Mike’s hockey games where he celebrated his 1,000th NHL game. She looked like she was extremely proud of her husband. They are such a cute family, and very busy as well.

Carrie Underwood has just recently launched her own line of swimwear, combining that with her successful sportswear clothing line called Calia by Carrie that was launched in 2015. She sent out a selfie on her Instagram showing one of the swimsuits that will be offered at Dicks Sporting Goods very soon. The flowery, Hawaiian-style bikini is a perfect fit for the mom-of-one. She noted that this new line goes right along with everything that she is looking for in swimwear.

“Adorable and athletic… and covers everything I want covered!”

With a full tour, new music, her new adventure into entrepreneurship, and also taking care of her sweet family, Underwood knows that taking care of herself is top priority as well. There is no doubt that she is indeed doing her best to have it all and is taking her health seriously. She was definitely basking in happiness last night at the ACM Awards.
