Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Forced To Explain Reunion With Jennifer Lopez To Girlfriend

Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly had some explaining to do to his girlfriend, Cassie, after reuniting and laughing it up with his long-ago ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, after the American Music Awards last November.

Entertainment Tonight relays details about the event that led Combs’ girlfriend to being in need of explanation.

“The 46-year-old rapper opened up about his girlfriend Cassie’s reaction to a photo that surfaced from Lopez’s private afterparty, which showed Combs talking and laughing with his ex at a club.”

While the rapper spoke with The Breakfast Club morning show on Friday for Power 105.1, he fessed up to questions about the relationship he and his girlfriend have.

“My woman, at the end of the day, you know, she ain’t have a problem with it. [She] had some questions. Me and Jennifer … people gonna be friends, man. People gonna grow, and, you know, any of my exes, they smile and they’re happy to see me … and that’s all that was about. And, you know, I answered the question and we kept it moving.”

The former couple, JLo and Combs, dated from 1999 to 2001, and although the reason for the split was always thought to be related to a night of high drama and gunfire outside of a New York City club, Lopez shared in 2013 that the real reason for the split was due to infidelity. The American Idol judge was open with Vibe magazine at the time, and shared how horribly the infidelity affected her.

“It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful. I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy and going nuts. It really took my whole life in a tailspin.”

The relationship between Combs and his girlfriend, Cassie, has been ongoing for 5 years, although the rapper has been careful to keep the relationship private. The two have only been seen at a few events together over the years they have been a couple.

As for Lopez, her relationship timeline since Diddy has been quite active, including two marriages, one engagement, two divorces, and two children, as ET reminds.

“The ‘Booty’ singer has been with Smart on-and-off since 2011, but following her relationship with Diddy, she married her back-up dancer, Cris Judd, in 2001. They divorced less than one year later, and she went on to date Ben Affleck, whom she was engaged to from 2002 to 2004, and marry singer Marc Anthony later in 2004. Her divorce from Anthony was finalized in 2014, and the pair share two children together, 8-year-old twins Emme and Max.”

As for the response her own current beau, Casper Smart had to the interaction and reunion between JLo and Diddy back in November, rumors circulated that the backup dancer was not pleased and threw a bit of a fit, yet sources say these claims are not accurate.

OK! falsely shared the following about the events that came after the reunion.

“The second they got home, Casper started screaming at Jennifer for humiliating him by being flirty and all over Diddy in public. He even accused her of still being obsessed with him after all these years.”

Gossip Cop was sure to clarify things on the matter and found the story to be completely false.

“Gossip Cop checked in with an actual source close to Lopez, who exclusively assures us that nothing about the tabloid’s report is remotely true. We’re told Lopez and Diddy are on friendly terms, but the main reason he attended the AMAs after-party was because it was sponsored by Ciroc, the brand of vodka he promotes.”

So all is well in the land of exes and current flames, it seems.
